Got $650 lying around? Then you might want to consider getting yourself the Limited Edition Bronze ATT razor set. Only 100 made. [/IMG]
About the ATT LE model though - it seems like naked brass is gaining popularity as a razor these days - this LE, Wolfman, the Hone 15 and one more that I can't remember. I rather like the look myself.
Oh its gorgeous. I love that look. My problem is that brass isnt an expensive metal. I just cant justify that price.
I thought when this first came out it was $499 ? Still way too expensive for me .. my most expensive razor is the Blackbird polished version and although i love the razor it still makes my butt pucker when i think of the money i paid for it, good thing my wife don't know
That would be the seygus or something like that called, it's the company that started out by making the razors in aluminum and now they are testing with brass. I believe TSE YouTube channel had review on one and the razor looks nice, except for one thing that's only estetic only and that the underside of the cap needs to be polished for better look. When the razor is assembled u don't see that but still something they need to take care of, price is also reasonable I think the reviewer said around 100 bucks and I think they offer 2 different plates to choose OC and CC and 2 different handles to choose from. When they have the final product I will order with both plates, probably the extra plate will be around 20 bucks or so. I also like the fact they come in a tin can like the Rockwell
I just ordered the Type 15 last night. 100 razors could last a long time - Sseygus just celebrated having sold 100 razors and my order number from Hone indicates that they've sold about 10 a month since its release. $650 though
...and about 150 razors you haven't tried yet in your collection. When they first posted the idea on Badger & Blade, I suggested that they use alumabronze (also called phantom brass), it oxidizes beautifully. Alumabronze on the left, normal naval brass on the right. They shot that idea down, though. Claimed alumabronze was too difficult to machine.
I did have a first-time-use razor this morning AND used my small, vintage Maw of London brush for the fist time
Probably the last time, too. Those small brushes are cute, collectable, and useless in a world of synthetic knots for travel.
I was actually pleasantly surprised. There was some scritch to it and I found that the small knot didn't really work well with circular/splaying motions so I ended up doing predominantly left and right paint strokes. It did build a great lather in the end. It was a fun brush to use but as you say - it might not be a frequent visitor to the bathroom counter simply because of it being up to some rather stiff competition.
I just checked their website and it's only $485. I like the look, but I'll stick with my stainless steel version.
