The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Until I saw this a few years back, I had no idea there were different types of ukuleles.
Progress so far- I can strum a few chords & am learning to strum upwards (harder than it looks.). I can also finger-pick "Hot Cross Buns" & "Jingle Bells".
For Ukeleles, it is kind of cool. But, they need to be in either Clint Eastwood western wear, or all in Hawaiian shirts. .
I sent an email to the composer/performer of “All I want for Chanukah is a Ukulele” to tell her how much I enjoy it and to thank her for inspiring me. I just got a lovely response from her. She was even kind enough to attach the lyrics & chord chart for it. Now I have to learn the D minor chord!
I am at the point in my lesson book where I am learning both the melody and chord progression for some of the songs. When strumming the chords, it helps me to sing the lyrics. That’s fine, when the song has them (e.g. “Jingle Bells’). But when I got to the “Ode to Joy” what to sing? I learned long ago, that the words to “My Darling Clementine” can be sung to the melody of the Ode to Joy and they are a perfect fit. So yes, earlier this evening, I was strumming the Ode to Joy while singing the word to My Darling Clementine. Go ahead & try it. You’ll see; it works.
BTW, I did eventually manage to sell off the soft case & extra tuner on eBay. I didn't make much-ten bucks, after fees- but since I didn't actually pay anything for them, I won't complain.
