Other than the fact that the BLK2 has lost a few hairs and the BLK4 has lost none, they feel VERY much the same. The 4 in the pic is unused. I had another that I gave to my son after a few months of use and it had lost nothing. My BK4 has never lost a hair. As for lathering and "face feel", the 2 and the 4 are very similar, though the 4 does seem to bloom a bit more.
Well..... I have to respectfully disagree. My BK4 abd BLK2 are completely different......not that thats a bad thing BK4 is denser and the brush hugs my face more than the BLK2 but the badger feel is very similar: Soft with a little scritch. BK4 getting my vote as the overall better brush.

Thanks! It is first in line as you can tell. The Tulip 2 is a close second, probably would be first if it weren't self pruning.
Excellent news on the Shavemac , very sorry to hear of your loss in the self pruning T2....a warranty replacement may be needed soon
Wow, some of you guys have quite the collection. Very nice! I've only got four: C&E BBB, two Mt. Tamalpais customs and a Simpson Chubby 1 in super.
Wait...haven't I seen that photo before? I'd love to have another Simpson, and I've been looking at the PJ2s, but that Tulip4 in super is really, really nice.
Okay, here's my small collection.I am currently awaiting the arrival of a 2007 LE Shavemac from Bernd. L-R.Simpson's Polo#8,Kent BK4,Rooney Super 3,1,Rooney Heritage Alibaba 1,Simpson's Special best and a Vintage Simpson
I LOVE that old Simpson!! How does it compare to the Rooney 3/1? Or do you even use it? Interested in a trade?
Naw,I wouldn't want to trade it.I actually good a good deal on ebay because they called it a Sampson. It's alot floppier than the Rooney,it's more in line with the Kent BK4.
