You GOTTA love "brush porn"! I have 3 Simpson brushes on their way to me soon....two are "Original" Simpson brushes made in the "shed" in Yeovil and that remaining one appears will come from The Isle of Man operation... once they arrive I will have pics of my collection....
im setting it up now...they all arent in full bloom because they have been boxed...but it looks nice...minus the Kent
Here is the current brush lineup... (minus my soon to arrive Vulfix made Simpson Colonel) Polo 8, PJ2, Chubby 2, Duke 3, Commodore 2, Vintage Chubby 1, ALL in BEST Badger ALL Simpson.... and the lone Plisson,... a #10 in grey badger w/ antiqued brass handle. Am I done? Should I be? Mike
I am just starting out, still looking for a good soap brush, but here are the two I have so far . . .
For a good soap brush, maybe a Crabtree & Evelyn Best Badger brush? They tend to be scrubby enough for soaps but can also be used successfully with creams. Make great travel brushes, too, 'cause they're only $35, so if you lose one, you're not out much!
My Current Collection From left to right: Simpsons Major Super, Medium Muhle-Pinsel Buffalo Horn, C&E BBB, AoS Pure, Vulfix 2234, Muhle-Pinsel Large Silvertip, Kent BK4, 2006 B&B Finest, Simpsons Chubby 2 Best, SMF 1, Shavemac 220.
Thanks. The funny part is that my wife gets mad when I put my keys on it. She's afraid it will get scratched!
The ivory M-P just got adopted (for a fee). There will probably be more at the adoption agency in the near future. Adoption fees will vary depending on the brush.
Ok, I know, I wasn't going to buy another Simpsons but found this little beauty in TN. 19mm knot, 42mm loft, 88 mm tall, marked best badger, No chips or cracks in the bakelite, no hare loss, no old age stank, doesn't look used much at all.
