Was just curious. I always wonder if people pan Merkurs after re-visiting them or just straight out the gate. Too often to count, newbies buy a Merkur razor and buy Merkur blades, too. They definitely aren't a good way to introduce people to our little hobby. Can't even recall if I tried Merkurs when I started, but I know I tried Derbys, and my assessment of them is the same as yours. But I don't think I've re-visited them since. Not interested basically. I know what works for me, and don't see any reason to stray. Thanks for the discussion, Jim!
Always, anytime! well, anytime I'm awake, or coffee's on.... I don't like to just say something's not good or bad just because I've had negative or positive experiences with it, either on a one-run or several. Ipods - I don't like 'em. I have my reasons, I won't buy one, there are better options in MY opinion, that doesn't mean they're bad, just not what I consider optimal...someone may disagree with me. Same with blades. Lords and Dorcos are battling it out for the position just above Merkurs in my estimation, but they are the preferred blade for many folks, and I find myself revisiting them every once in awhile to see if they truly are as bad as I recall, or if I had an off-moment. Yeah, I'm insane
