A re-creation of Kentucky Club with better quality leaf is intriguing, indeed. I looked around for some basic White Burley intended for blend-your-own mixtures, which would also offer a similar smoking experience to Kentucky Club. P&C has that, too: https://www.pipesandcigars.com/product/blending-white-burley/BG8-TB.html Kentucky Club was such a versatile product, and I'm sure the P&C White Burley bulk blend would be, too. You could smoke it on its own, or blend it in with other tobaccos as a fix for many faults, especially to calm down blends that burn too hot and to dry out heavily cased blends that are too moist and goop up your pipes. White Burley burns to a fine white ash with hardly any dottle at all.
I'm late to this thread, but at the risk of hijacking it for self promotion, I would like to point out that Phoenix Artisan Accountrements has a number of tobacco-scented products, most notable of which is Cavendish. Van Yulay sells Black Cavendish, which doesn't have vanilla notes, but is equally as awesome.
That happened many years ago when I caused someone here to buy something he ended up not liking. (I won't mention his name, but he remembers, I bet).
Can't control what people like or don't like. Everyone's different. If I suggest something to someone or pass along something I like, I always tell 'em they won't hurt my feelings if they don't like it. As I said, everyone's different.
