Fed Ex in my complex parking lot. How can that be....I'm not expecting a shaving item!!! (I'm so selfish lol).
Some people just can't because of the way their hair grows, and their skin type. It took me a long time (slow learner) to realize that I needed a SUPER sharp blade on the bottom of my neck to do it without irritation. The hair there grows straight up and FLAT. The first couple shaves on a blade go fine, then I will get tugging and irritation or weepers. Now I just don't do it except with a pretty new blade.
What a great thing to have your dad's razor. As far as the Fatboy goes , I understand everything you are saying, and think you are right on the money about the angles. The fact that you recognize it means you will have it aced in no time.
Here are the brush pics. I think process of elimination will sort them out if the labeling doesn't show. Week 1, the 2 bands: Week 2, the synthetics: Week 3, the 2 bands: Week 4, the farm animals: Remember that more than one person can pick the same brush. If there is a tie, the guessed score will decide the winner. I hope a bunch of people enter this. I went through the den last night, and I have a bunch of stuff to pick from. There should be something for everybody, regardless of how long you have been at this; Everything from vintage razors to blades to new software. If nobody picks the winning brush, I will select a winner at random from the participants, so somebody will be a winner.
Sorry, I misspoke. On my neck I either go straight up or straight down. At least I am not cutting the same places every day. What is my package doing at your work?
Razor: Supply Provision Custom 2 dot head Blade: Chick Brush: RazoRock Tri-color Soap: B&M First Snow Post Care: Thayers Witch Hazel Osage Rub Alum Aftershave: B&M First Snow I am so impressed with the quality of B&M. The second my brush hit the soap it exploded in lather and the bathroom filled with the scent of fresh cut pine. This soap is slick, protective and has a great post shave feel. The matching aftershave, while I wish it was stronger, is very nice. Starts off with a heavy pine scent but quickly transitions to a wet earth, pine and leather scent. I'm going to layer it next time to see if I can increase the scent strength. The Supply Provision Custom is my new go to razor. Last day on this blade and I'll switch to the three dot head next shave. Three easy passes for a BBS shave. For this month focus I'm going to use the silvertip brush I have inbound. Until it shows up I'll "suffer" through with the Tri-color. It will be interesting to learn the differences between these 2 types of knots. Have a great day folks!
2 March 2017 Blade/Focus Shave I was cleaning out my vanity last night to make some room. I found some Trumper cream samples. So this morning, I used some Violet Shave Cream. It was a little disconcerting to see pink lather, but it smelled pretty good. The Voskhod did it's usual fine job and after a 2.5 pass WWS, a splash of Clubman provided a great start to the day. One more day remains for this Focus. To be honest I'm not really that in love with the 99r. It's still up in the air whether it joins the rotation or not. I could live with a three razor rotation. Have a fantastic day!
I had that same Parker at one point. It was alright, but I was pretty lulewarm about it. I gave my away. Sounds like a good PIF for the newbie giveaway.
Been far to busy to focus on the focus for the first 2 days of March, but as I stood staring blankly @ my den this morning I was channeling my 1937 Gillette Sheraton. I loaded it up with a new Astra, lathered up some AoS Oud cream and started a two pass shave. I forgot how aggressive this shaver is. It takes concentration to get a good shave, but with proper concentration it will give up a great shave like the one I had this morning. Good Day!
When I came up with this scoring system I wasn't planning a pool. This became cumbersome. What I will do is figure it as a percentage for people who guess 100, points for people who guess 90. It is the same either way.
Mar 1&2, 2017 Travel Shaves Postwar Tech w Polsilver Omega Travel Brush TOBS Mr Taylors Cream Thayers Unscented Have been hotel shaving the last two days. This is my usual travel set up, with some stuff I keep for travel. 2 fine shaves the last two days. I put a little Thayers in that little clear bottle in the picture, but was glad I didn't have a bad weeper as I didn't bring the Styptic. Brought one Polsilver, so that I can throw it away in the tuck for safety and be able to carry on my bag on the way home. Looking forward to getting home tonight and starting the Focus tomorrow morning. Have a great day all!
