    You have to admit the spinners do look very cool. It completes the whole effect. The pilots were not thrilled about the drift kit and removed after just one landing. No idea why they didn't enjoy it.

    Saturday shave:

    I have a well worn puck of AoS tallow that is my next up to be finished off. Since the Tabac has more than one shave left I will start my assault on it again Monday. The AoS super lather was super, the Riga Razor is big, cool looking and extremely sharp edge on it. If it was not for a tickle from the alum it would have been epic, instead it was just outstanding.

    Irritation A Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A++

    Razor: Riga Razor 7/8
    Strop: Dry Gulch black latigo
    Brush: Thäter
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: AoS tallow + AoS cream super lather
    AS: Enhanced Alt Insbruck, Edwin Jager ASB
    Scent: Tom Ford Italian Cypress

    That's a beautiful looking MMOC... It's plating is in immaculate condition! Fuzzy will be after that one! Someone said that he doesn't own enough SE razors or something... :happy097:

    Doesn't look like my Ming Shi 2000s is going to be here in time for the start of Adjustable April! A little disappointed, but I'm aware that shipping from AliExpress can certainly take a long old time!

    Oh, yes....I've seen the posts where you were commissioned for doing shaving stands. Put me in for one! :D
    I watched a few YouTube videos on turning brushes. It looks like a lot of fun, but once I started doing a little math in my head, I decided that it's probably not going to happen. The last thing I need is another hobby that takes up a fair amount of space, time and money.

    Great photo and setup, Jared! I've been doing some window shopping for Gems, since is seems like everyone else and their brother has one lately.
    Like the dummy I am, I watched an auction end the other day for a NOS Gem - for $16.

    It was on shave 1.5, and I just pulled it out of the little paper last week. The rest of the shave was fantastic. I just have this one little spot that I use as a litmus test for sharp. The whiskers grow so flat into my neck, that I about have to poke out my own trachea to stretch hard enough to stand them up. No matter the razor, DE or AC, I can do this on the first couple few shaves out of a blade. With a straight maybe four or so shaves fresh from a finisher. After that it feels like I am ripping hairs out by the roots. I either get a few weepers, or if I do my part really well, my neck just looks like raw chicken skin. In this case I am 100% sure that I don’t know which. Even though I don’t have a ton of shaves under my belt with GEM blades, they are a pretty easy to handle design, and these blades just feel Scrape-y to me more than Sharp-ey. I sold all my vintage SE’s off a couple of years ago, for that reason. I kept a Jr, and now I have this one. Need some practice.
