We knew this was coming since October. She had a series of tests during Christmas break trying to narrow down exactly what is wrong. None of the tests were definitive so the surgeon will be going in to physical find out what is wrong and correct it. I am just hoping the surgery is able to relieve her pain.

Wonderful shave lineup Robert. We are having a vetiver type week here in Atlanta.

She was just exploring scents for the wonder and joy of it. I actually picked up stuff for her to make some solid perfumes. We spent the evening making two different wearable scents of her own creation. They turned out pretty danged nice.

I always wondered what having a niece would have been like. One nephew, that's it. But he's developed into a quite intelligent young man.

Thanks Clint. It shouldn’t be too hard, but it’s going to really change the look.

If we have mastered one particular thing on this thread the past 4+ years it is definitely enabling and encouraging such enabling through the scientific method. Side by side cookie comparisons. And yet the leader of the rebellion still wants to deny reality.

For the record - it's Retail Store Manager, UBER/LYFT Driver (no old timey taxi service here) and while I need to look up Comestibles I'll just let Delivery Guy speak for itself.

Very cool pic, Chris! You got a smokin’ deal on those Joris razors as I recall.

    Post - Alum

After last night's reminder that the Zorrik blades are not, well, the best, I got ready to give this setup another go. After all, there are blades that aren't the greatest on day one but that smooth out over the next shave or two. Because my memory is fuzzy, this could be one of those. I chose the Wheat State Barbershop. This is a non-tallow soap that doesn't perform too badly. The scent isn't really a "barbershop" like I like it but it's not horrible either. The soap produces enough protection and is slick enough to be usable. The other non-tallow that I deal with is Soap Commander and I would have to rank that several grades above the Wheat State. Still, not a bad soap at all.

Well, the Zorrik SS is definitely NOT one of those blades that smooths out. In fact, it got worse overnight. Bad enough that working on my neck under my chin was just plain no fun. Lots of drag and pull and nothing smooth about it on the first pass. On the second pass I don't think I made much headway trying to work it down to a DFS. In fact, I'd say that I barely made DFS after some extra work AND after a bleeder on my left neck. That came from the rough edge and too much pressure as I tried to force it to work, so I'll take half the blame. Alum was nice and warm and on that spot it was downright brutal. The styptic didn't burn any less either, but it did stop the bleeding.

Well, guess what. The Zorrik is binned and I'll move on tomorrow night. I still got a decent enough shave to go to work with tomorrow. The way my weeks are going in that realm this shave will still surpass my day at work for satisfaction.

    Happy Saturday everyone!!

No shave today, just touching base. Changed timing belt, tensioners and waterpump on one of my daughters VW Jetta. That was an experience! Furnace quit after i was into it an hour so i just worked faster to stay warm. Have a great weekend fellas.

The interwebs, cell phones, and GPS have made giving a stranger a ride into a respectable side job. Not like taxi cab driving. That would test my patients.

My father did a time with VW's in the mid '70's with a Bug and a couple Vans. I was 14 or 15 and learning a bit of mechanic skills under his thumb. We got to swapping out the 4 cylinder motors in short order. Four big bolts & a few peripherals were all that held them together. Sort of like a helicopter; not so much a vehicle. More of a close association of moving parts.
