Wonderful photo and recap. The Supply SE is one of my favorite razors as well.

That's a great question. I don't think I put more pressure on than I have previously, but I may have. My guess is I had the angle significantly wrong. However, I'd be surprised if the correct angle on the Slim is that different from the Viking Godfather I've used up to now. Same blade, btw. Slim was set on position 3.

Either the #3 position on the slim is way more aggressive than the Viking Godfather I have been using, or I just really messed up the angle. WTG on my neck is basically S to N, and I have a terrible time keeping a consistent angle there, let alone a consistent proper angle.

Do they require a different technique?

Ride the cap! I shave S to N on my neck. Watch the cap of the razor and let it ride almost right against your skin.

Hang in there Carl. Using less pressure and getting the angle correct (typically more parallel to your face than you are used to so you are not scraping) will likely be the key.

Wonderful shave Robert. The original version of Haslinger was some really good soap.

The two main issues that create bad shaves are improper angle and too much pressure. To help with the angle try what we call "riding the cap". Keep the edge of the cap against your face as you make your passes. With the Slim on 3 that should set up for a very accurate angle of attack on the blade. If it seems a bit too mild then drop the angle just a tic and find that sweet spot then keep it there as you shave. It's all a matter of practice and muscle memory. Once you learn to hold the angle it becomes automatic. As for pressure - the Slim requires no help from its handler. Allow the weight of the razor to work without pushing into your face to try and help it.

The NEW LC is not an aggressive razor, well not when compared to something like a Gillette Old Type or a Fatip. They are actually quite nice, effective and comfortable razors. The blade should theoretically appear even on both sides but I've had a few where there seemed to my eye to be a bit of a difference. That goes for several razors. Probably just a tiny imperfection in the blade manufacture or even more of an optical illusion.

Another exceptional shave report Joseph. You’re certainly enabling on the Hemingway cream. Not that I need more soap or the temptation.

The blade should have the same exposure on both sides.
