Fine Throwback Thursday shave, using my Raffle prize brush(1925 Rubberset). I don't think I swirled it enough, as the Stoylin Sheep soap looked almost invisible on my face and neck, Or perhaps I didn't squeeze off all the water from it(the brush). But I got it all off, suffering a Cut along the way(2nd pass). The cut was down at Cactus Nation again, up towards the jawline. The Bill Neumann aftershave (Heartwood)saved it from looking worse than it does now. I should have done better at Porcupine Alley, but it was OK. I also have to report a strange smell-and I don't know if it was from the brush or soap. Kinda like Hay, but not "clean" hay(like "clean dirt"). I'll have to experiment next time I use the brush(which won't be for a while). I'm glad to have it, but perhaps it needs some cleaning off(from the shipment travel). I don't remember the Stoylin Sheep soap smelling like that. Could also be the year of development-1925. Anyway........Very Excellent.

Razor: AJ Jordan Old Faithful Cocolobo scales
Brush: PAA The Green Ray 24 mm
    Lather: Stirling Pharaoh's Dreamsicle
    Aftershave: Stirling Pharaoh Dreamsicle
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Pharaohs Dreamsicle EdT
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Early morning shave following an intense X3Bar Pull workout. I spent my mid morning to early afternoon painting the ceiling in our living room this the later post. I hate painting ceilings.

I broke our my first Stirling scent, Pharaohs Dreamsicle. I just love the freshness of this scent. It is a big fan of SWMBO’s as well.

The AJ Jordan straight delivered a smooth, close shave with the assistance of the Stirling’s slick lather. I am continuing to smell good hours later courtesy of the EdT. It is so good.

I am going to rest for a few hours before my son arrives home from school. I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.

Well, you got a decent shave Paul. I would just wash the brush with dish soap such as Dawn and make sure the smell is gone. Afterwards, I would immediately use it on the Sheep soap. If you get the smell again, then it's the soap that's smells and not the brush. It also may have been that the brush needed to be cleaned from the residue of past shaves.

Excellent shave Joe. Stirling Pharoah's Dreamsicle seems to be a winner, but then again, I like citrus scents.

I threaded the top part of the handle all of the way through. I'll thread the end of the brass rod and then screw the brass rod to the handle end with a short stud.... then epoxy everything together. I wish the rod was just a little larger in diameter. 3/8 is just under the inner diameter of the tube. The weight of the brass rod added to handle feels a lot better in the hand. It balances the razor out.

    Take care.
