Old ladies powder bowl, cleansing cream bowl as well. But now I've mostly quit collecting and my son and daughter-in-law suggests I thin the herd. But I did get some new razor blades.
No, I've been doing real good, haven't bought anything except for some shaving cream ( 3 ) and a few blades/100's.

After 12 shaves, it's time to say farewell to this Tatra Platinum blade. Today's shave was buttery smooth and resulted in no irritation, but even with my Slim Adjustable set to maximum blade exposure, there was still stubble on my neck after two relathers and ATG passes. It was a passable shave, to be sure, just not nearly as good as the previous 11. For the record, my shaving routine is WTG, XTG, then ATG, often with a second ATG pass on my neck. Surely this blade would still be going strong if I could get by with a two-pass shave. Up next: The Astra Superior Platinum blade

And a mighty fine Friday it is. And what a mighty fine English razor you have there, young man. Cheers
Today, I bid farewell to this Astra Superior Platinum blade, which yielded 7 good shaves. Today's shave was number 8. I put a sizable nick on my chin going WTG--yikes!--and also experienced a wide swath of razor burn below my jawline, despite using the exact same setup as deployed for yesterday's outstanding shave. Disappointed to see some corrosion by the SU in "Superior" and wonder if there was some on the cutting edges, accounting for today's crummy shave. Looks like the Slim could use a little love from the Scrubbing Bubbles team, too... Up next: The Astra Superior Stainless, a blade which I've historically liked even better than the SP.
It's time to say goodbye to another Astra...this Superior Stainless blade yielded three excellent shaves right off the bat, but was absolutely shot by the middle of the fourth shave. With both the Astra SP and SS, there's little advance notice that the blade is just about spent. Suddenly, they start dragging and biting, and it's all over--and I would advise you to replace the blade right then, instead of trying to finish the shave. As with the SP's final shave, I was left with a wide swath of razor burn below my jawline and was also cut. As you can see, there's nothing left of the edge. I'm wondering if the Barbasol Pacific Rush with Menthol & Caffiene used for last week's shaves is corroding the Astra blades.
i think they are designed for barbers, who use one blade per client..anything more would be a waste..i get 3 and done with both astra's also.most modern gillette blades actually ,except for vintage spoilers..
I've been contemplating my results with this Challenge so far, and It occurs to me that not using the same soap or cream with every model of blade may be causing some to die before their time, skewing the results somewhat. What say you? My scoreboard so far: Tatra Platinum: 12 good shaves Astra Superior Platinum: 7 good shaves Astra Superior Stainless: 3 good shaves Next blades in the rotation: Asco Super Stainless - Baili Super Stainless - BiC Chrome Platinum
