Good morning. Today was a nice shave. I recently touched up this blade, but still think I could get it smoother. Two pass DFS.

Got a nice lather with the Tabac and my face-lathering Fan. 3 passes to a near BBS again. I'm going to put this razor away for a bit and 'focus' on my other injectors, as I'm getting consistent, nice shaves from this combo. I need to get that 'E' dialed in like this.
    Have a great day all!

Great progress! I find Astra Greens quite sharp actually, as do quite a few others. How many days are you getting out of them? '3 and out' is a fairly common sentiment, unless you are trying to see just how many shaves you can get out of a blade. I don't ever find Astra SPs tuggy, but as with everything shave-related, YMMV.

You always have the coolest filters, Jim! Are you using a specific app or software for your effects?

I used one blade all last week for 6 shaves and it seemed fine(not going ATG, intentionally), and this morning was the second shave with this particular blade and got a good tug going down too far.

By 'too far' do you mean that your hair growth changes direction and you end up going X or ATG?
Some folks, myself included, can't necessarily go ATG everywhere. I've been DE shaving for about 8 months now, and I've resigned myself to the fact that I just can't go truly ATG on my lower neck all the time due to irritation. I do two opposite XTG passes after WTG. WTG isn't all in the same direction because of changing growth direction, however.
Have you 'face mapped' for exact growth direction? That was an excellent piece of advice I got on this thread about 5 months ago.

May 29 - Back to the Pass Around Box Samples

OK, No, my post was not this short. Sorry to bust your bubble!!! I added my details now.

    Merkur 34C
    Perma Sharp (Day 2)
    Dark Chocolate (JR #148) brush
    DIY PSO
    Catie's Bubbles Tonsorial Plus
    Alum/Thayers/AOS PSB

With a trip into Manhattan being planned in order to attend a museum trip with my daughter and her class, I figured I would get in early and hit Pasteur's Pharmacy. Before I go, I would like to sample as many soaps as possible to get an idea what I will be buying!!!

Today, I reached for my sample of Catie's Bubbles Tonsorial Plus. Soap took a good amount of water and resulted in a thick and slick lather. It was amazingly great!!! The scent was not filling the room strong but was more along the middle of strength. Strong enough to smell but not so strong as to flood the room. The scent, to me was rather sweet and seemed to have a pink grapefruit scent. I have no idea if the lack of power was due to the age of my sample and if certain smells had dissipated. This must be old since I no longer see it listed. If the scent was a little less sweet, I think I would like it more. It was not offensive and could grow on me but for now, it was rather sweet.

Perma Sharp blade was still sharp and moved quietly. I kept the pressure very light and even tried , on one side of my face, to switch XTG and ATG order. Usually I do ATG last. For some reason, I feel the XTG is more irritating. Unfortunately, changing the order did not improve things. Alum was still stinging. Also felt a little sting after that dried and I applied which hazel. Did get a BBS shave after 3.5 passes.

I will say that based on this lather, I will be searching Catie's website for a scent I do like since this soap is really good.

Even when I slow down and enjoy the process I am still done in less than a half hour. I guess this is process is left over from my time in the Army. My entire morning routine from walking in the master bath to leaving fully dressed is under 20-25 minutes on the high side. Most of the time it is quicker since I no longer have to wear a suit and tie daily.

Exactly, it's like going down under my jaw is WTG, with, with-AGAINST!

I guess I could try going against on my cheeks and jaw and maybe under and see how that goes.

I've kinda mapped it, I know my chest hair creeping up my neck grows up and I have a swirl under my jaw on the right side and the hair on the sides of my neck right under my jaw grow in toward the middle of my neck...it might do that all the way in.

Thank you, Jason! I use Photo Lab for the filters. Not too fancy, but it seems to work.
