    SOTD:
A beautiful shave this morning, a fast one too, going to the military fair at the Voortrekker monument so i was in a bit of a rush.

The aristocrat is a great mild razor, perfect for fast shaving, in fact theres no noticeable difference in the time it takes me to shave with this razor compared to a cartridge razor.

Arko performed amazingly, such a great shave stick, and very long lasting.

The feather was plenty sharp to cut through all the stubble, definitely a world class blade.

    Razor: gillette aristocrat barber-pole 1948
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (29)
    Soap: arko shave stick
    Aftershave balm: aquaous cream
    Aftershave: status for men.

(Please excuse the incorrect image, didnt have time to take a new photo)

Jim, that is very brave! The late Ray Charles shaved in the same manner! However, I don't expect you to close your eyes while shaving.

Razor: NDC Post-War Gold Fat-Handle Tech
    Blade: X3 Spoiler (4)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Soap: Marvy Mystery Soap
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

For today's shave, I decided to go with a fairly safe combo- a Post-War Tech and a vintage Spoiler. The soap, as I said earlier, started off as a tub of Marvy but, along the way, it picked bits and scraps of various other shave and non-shave soaps.

So, how did it go? Pretty well, actually. I had forgotten that one of the random bits of soap was a Patchoulli-scented soap. That came as a bit of a surprise, though not an unpleasant one. The soap produced a nice, creamy lather albeit slightly dry; something that I will work on over the coming days. The razor and blade make a great combo, easily tackling my two days of growth with no issues.

A very impressive start. Why bother with a razor.

Good to see you back Adam.

Thanks Joe..I am proud of the little razor. The only problem is the Rockwell and Karve keep calling him the "Old Man of the Den". ;)

I suspect Fuzzy doesn't need any help getting fired up, but that ought to do it.
Got the Williams, but I'd have to go shopping to use a cart. Possible my daughter has a disposable pink plastic thingie here. Would a "previously used on female legs" cart be MAYhem?
Wouldn't want to use alum after that.
Yum, love me some Debbie Harry. I prefer the less wholesome "Videodrome" version. No video to link - that's a twisted flick with much mayhem. Did you know Ms. Harry worked as a Bunny?

    Good morning, guys!
This month will be Dovo month! I will be straight shaving with my Dovo shavette, my Dovo Best Quality and my Dovo Special. Sorry guys, but I don't want to be branded as the mad scientist by doing anything abnormal for Mayhem month!
Ok, let me get on with my report.
Out of the gate, I shaved with my Dovo shavette and it is shavette shave # 59. The Personna hairshaper blade had 5 shaves on it before this shave. Using my Rocky brush, face-lathered Stirling's Bay Rum soap. I didn't wring out the brush so the first pass application was somewhat watery, but that's ok because it was still slick enough for me to shave. Two passes, touchups, no blood and no irritation produced a fantastic BBS shave. Splashed the Stirling Bay Rum AS and I was good to go. It was a great way to start the month.
    Result: Grade 98 = A+
    Have a great day, guys!

Well that didn't take long. Way to go Jim!
Awesome razor, Adam! Glad to see you back!
I find I need a sharper blade to get a comfortable shave using cold water.
    Nice setup Danny!
