It is likely going to be a no shave day for me. I just go into Stockholm, and my plane was a bit late. I am waiting in the airport for the bus to Vasteras; I likely won't get there until about noon local time. Hopefully the hotel is ready, and I can get a quick nap. I am not really needed at the factory today, so I may skip it, meaning a shave won't be necessary. I hope everyone is doing well.

    Menthol Monday

    Schick I2

    Sterling frozen tundra

    Perfecto badger brush.

Super Great focus shave last night. 2 passes on my face to a ibss. Stretching the skin under my ears helped a lot and was rewarded with a great irritation free shave.

Also found these cool snap top cups at the dollar tree. They are a little small, but a sample puck fills them 1/2 way and with a smaller brush it is easy to load. 12 for a buck ain't to bad.[IMG]

This is not a wild MAYhem shave, but a philosophical contribution.

I had always wondered if these were the same things people shaved with. Figured, I'd give it a try. AccuTec industrial. From the same folks that make Personna USA and Gem.

Fired up the beloved R21 under the wonderful protection of Stirling mutton tallow soap.

The specs on all their DE blades appeared the same except for coatings.

An uneventful shave. I don't think I could tell these apart from the teflon coated Personna blades I have. 4 light touch shavette passes. Could easily go for more, which is more than I could say for other blades in my shavette training. I really wonder if there is any difference in any of their blades other than degreasing and coatings.

When I got home I found these.

I figure somebody had tipped off the Russians about my testing, and they were trying to lure me back to the fold with a Max Headroom fave from the motherland.

Now if now if I can only scare the Solingen folks to send me some of those poorly made, bent, dull, and frowning straight razors I'm hearing about. I think I can get them shaving well using the new methodologically antique convex Arkies I got.

Or the Japa...... nah, they don't scare so easily.

Finished up with Stirling Executive Man.

Sorry guys, nothing to see here..... really!

    Tobacco Tuesday!

    Good morning!

It's been a long time since I've done a Tobacco Tuesday shave. Today's the day. Three passes with the Micromatic left me near BBS. Totally silent alum. I'm enjoying this razor more than I thought I would. I picked it up due to it's reputation from some of the reviews I've seen. Put my technique to the test. Prove to myself I could get a quality shave from it. I see it being a regular part of the rotation as I've become quite smitten with it.

Have a great day, gentlemen! [IMG]

I really don't see why not.

I'll try it soon. Gotta decide though, Variant (1-5), Short Comb New, EJ DE89, Merkur 30c. Hmmm.

Maybe I'll throw the other half of this one in the Focus R48 Dynamic.

I just don't expect any diffence from the Personna comfort costed I have.

Mongoose (batch 2) in satin SS w/Dr. Bomber handle
Feather Artist Club Super Professional (5)
30 Day Crew LE figured maple handle w/APShaveCo Tuxedo knot
    C.O. Bigelow
    Alum, Thayers WH, and USB

I opted for a night shave on a 36 hours of growth. Three nice and easy passes, all left handed, left me super smooth and ready for a good night's sleep. I skipped the Liquid Gold finish, but I'll make up for it today.

I couldn't find the super glue, so I decided to leave the blade in the razor. We're slap out of crunchy peanut butter, so I reluctantly used the C.O. Bigelow. The blindfolds and sleep masks must be packed, and I forgot to turn off the lights while shaving. And oh yeah, my dog ate my homework.

I'm packing up most of my shaving goodies today, so I'll stay with this set up for next couple of weeks until things start coming out of boxes.

It looks like we are going to have another beautiful -- and dry -- day here.
