Let's quote Schiller: "Der Mai ist gekommen, der Winter ist aus".
    New month, old gear.
I am approaching the final stages of the Williams and Derby City.

The M-Bombed shave soap was bone-chilling.
The Parker brush was so cold, it gave up three bristles. :angry019:
The Game Changer was loaded with the now very familiar Personna 74. Shave count...:signs002:
Once again, I double-splashed the (bombed) Derby City Chop Chop's Small Batch Shave Tonic Winter Reserve on my
frigid face for a fantastic finale.
For May, I may use different gear. I may use straight razors. I may use DE razors.
I may bowl lather. I may face lather. I may abstain from purchasing new gear, I may not.
I will, however, not say: "Mother may I?"

    Brent Jacobson Themed Shave.
    *Hardware: Produced by Brent
    Software-Soap: PIF by Brent

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Jacobson FDG
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock (Green)
Brush: Big Cyprass 24mm Silver Tip
Lather: LA Shaving Soap Company Blackfern
    Aftershave: Chatillon Lux YRP Toner
    Additional Care:
    Barbero Alum Block
Thayer's Witch Hazel - Aloe Vera

I decided to bring in this first Friday in May with a soap gifted to me by Brent Jacobson, of one of the FB groups. Over the years, I have obtained a few hardware pieces from him as well. All perform very well.

In the past when I have used LA Blackfern I have paired it with a pine base splash. Today I choose to use Chatillon Lux YRP. This turned out to be a fantastic pairing. The description from the Chatillon Lux website is as follows, “The rich, zesty scent of an Asian citrus fruit, yuzu, with a touch of neroli, envelops a seamless accord of sweet rose and woody patchouli for this scent perfectly suited for the recently arrived spring weather.”

I continued with the “Iced Cube Water” Shave with the assistance of the lather scuttle. Again it was invigorating.

The overall shave turned out to be a BBS. The icing on the cake was the missus confirming her approval of the smoothness and scent. Regarding the scent of the CL YRP toner, as I write this it has been 7 hours post shave, it is still very present. It is not overbearing, just a subtle presence.

    timabababaluka No exceptions. Except.....

Great shaves, Matthew. I recall seeing the Jagen David before, but still had to look it up. Also had to look up the Blue Stratos.

I Derbys were my first blade, and I was convinced they sucked. I tried them again last summer, and guess what... it turns out that I sucked all those years ago and not the blades. Go fig :happy102:
