Well I just can't figure out why it seems to take longer to get things back in order. I mean, when I was 24 I played in a donkey baseball game as a fund-raiser. (My radio days - the station fielded a team against a local Lions Club) I only played two innings because I got dumped on my head and shoulder in the second inning by the donkey at shortstop. Say hello to a pretty nice concussion and a broken collar bone. Had to wear a brace for 6 weeks. Well, I also had a publicity stunt schedule for five weeks after that game. I was supposed to be the barrel man in a rodeo for two nights. You know - the guy who helps fight the bulls during bull riding by using (and hiding in) a barrel. I was still in the brace when I spent two nights getting run over by the bulls. I didn't even blink an eye. I just can't figure out why now, at 60, I can't even just walk off a minor knee strain. Frustrated, I am. I mean, it's not that different, is it?

You are not taking into account the 40 more years of extra stress on the joints due to walking, and any other unfathomable stunts you may have pulled tthat you may not remember.

 

That is true Jason. As you know, I have the 6C and the Model T. I really use these razors more for my headshaves and I don't usually report my headshaves unless I faceshave at the same time. However, this is Modern May for me so I am using only my modern era razors this month. That's 11 razors out of 24 that fit the bill so it's almost evenly split. I didn't plan it that way, but it happened. Finally, I prefer using straights and shavettes for face shaves. I will use my safeties when I need a quick shave or I am just plain lazy to use a straight.

 

With close to 40 years of life, biology and degeneration working against you, I'd say being able to get back to it after taking a day or two off is pretty good. I used to dunk a basketball, but last winter I hurt my knee just trying to reach the rim--knee still kind of hurts, but not nearly as bad as my pride

Hush! Don't tell my body that it will be 65 next month because it can still run to the car in a parking lot albeit not as fast as when I was 20. I wasn't fast at 20. Lol!

 

Ah, its the speed I miss the most--my two oldest can take me in a foot race if it lasts more than 30 seconds

Not yet. Tim suggested aluminum scales but that hasn't been popular with others. Honestly plan to solve that problem after I have a blade which is good enough to be put in scales.
