Thank you Jason. I have no idea about the bowl since Swati brought it back from Australia. Here is a link to what she got.

Thank you Tim. The bowl and soap were another hit of a gift from my wife.

Ugh! Been trying to catch up with posts, but none of my devices are loading the pages or photos properly. I'll post my shave instead and try to catch up and comment later:

    May 17--In the Mix/Mix-It-Up May
    DE Sunday

    Gear
    • Razor: Linuxguile Lupo--another mild and smooth shaver. Very light, but feels so nice to shave with
    • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)--very happy when I pulled this blade out of the box; the GSB’s are smooth and sharp. Really like these blades!
    • Brush: Semogue Boar
    • Soap: Iced Pineapple & Glastonbury (4 Frost Drops and prepared and chilled with ice water)--had to repeat this mix again, but forgot that it’s better to have twice as much Glastonbury as Iced Pineapple. Still very nice.
    • Menthol: Stirling Frost Drops
    • AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue (1 Frost Drop)
    • Balm: Stirling Glacial Unscented

    The Shave
I nested my lather bowl into a bowl of ice water for a prolonged, and wonderfully chilly lather that was further enhanced by the addition of menthol. The Semogue Boar is a joy to work with :D

All three passes (WTG, XTG & ATG) were long and smooth strokes. The aluminium RazoRock Lupo is very light, so I found I had to do a bit more chasing than I would with my other DE’s, but it’s such a smooth shaver that neither I nor my face minded the touch ups.

The end product: BBS and no irritation. I love Sundays--make sure to enjoy yours! :D

No, Jason, I’ve never used it. I got the set along with a Gillette New Standard at an Estate sale for $60. Both were immaculate. They were the deceased owner’s and weren’t up for auction. The focus of the auction was his commercial stoneware collection. They were in a box along with about 15 Classic Thelonius Monk Jazz LPs. The guy’s daughter negotiated with one guy over the LPs, and was more than happy to take the $60 From me for two “old razors” in the junk box that she was planning to throw out.

For the life of me, I don't get why any soap or aftershave scent would react in the heat such as you have described.

It's great to see someone have an aha moment when they first try Stirling soaps. You will find that it is very consistent in its great performance. There are very few shavers that have a meh attitude to this fine product. Enjoy your Stirling shaves Myles!

Lol! It would drive me nuts when my father would pronounce boil as Uncle Milties last name and oil for an English gentleman's noble rank. I would try to have him pronounce boil as boy-el and oil as oy-el, but it wasn't happening.

Awesome shave and set up, Paul! Love Stirling's Coconut Lime as well as the Synthetic 2 band brush :D

Hope you recover from the poison ivy quickly. I'm the same way with poison oak--in fact, I'll probably get an outbreak just because I typed the words "poison oak" :happy102:

It was aftershave....Maybe I'll try one this summer to see if it happens again. In Masachusetts(if not more N..E. states)the summer of 1987 was dreadful...almost every day was hot&humid.. I remember watching some Wimbledon tennis action, and when they'd go to a commercial, I'd go to my bathroom for a cool drenching of my face. Thus it could be just the way my skin developed. (Just throwing out a theory here).
