Sounds like a great day, Blair. Awesome that you had it off. The L'Occitane pucks have their fans as well- not sure if you have that or just the cream tube.

Great combo, Gary. Those 4 piece techs are very rare here, as you know. Congrats.

Sounds like that plate is a winner, Jim. I hear you on exposure vs gap. The angle of attack makes a great difference in what really becomes 'aggressive', imho.

Bigger gaps do give a wider range of angles to experiment with but for me just off the cap is almost always the best with a few exceptions.

The blades are stuck in the metal/plastic container and will not slide out. Over the years, whatever lube Personna used has hardened and the heat from the hair dryer works to loosen them up.

Not much to report about this morning's shave except all went pretty well. The Yardley aftershave comes out on the cool side, thus I think I can add it to summer&early fall shaves. I got good spread power from the Foamy. Had to work a little harder than usual at N.Porcupine-the sides mainly. Better to err on the side of leaving some astroturf rather than suffering a cut there. No blemishes. Tried to go across the grain of N.W. Cactus Nation, to see if that might help with the ingrown hairs. Not much success. After the Yardley, I finished up with spritzes of the Passion 4 Men. The overall lesson for today-respect the tough areas. Super Duper Excellent.

    T.N. Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Epsilon Blue Aftershave

I decided on a bit of menthol blast for this morning's shave. The soap is new to my collection and it is the third time I've used it. It's the first I've used from Stirling's Glacial collection and it does live up to it's name. Wow, what a face freezer. The Epsilon aftershave has a decent dose of menthol, but nowhere near the level of the soap. As my luck would have it, the matching Glacial Lemon Chill aftershave I had ordered arrived a few hours after my shave today, so I will have to wait until next time to use them both for the same shave.

All went according to plan, with 2 passes providing a comfortable, cold and efficient result with no irritation or mishaps.

Veddy nice Andrew! I have never tried the Stirling glacials. Personally, I have tried and liked Cryogen so anything else would be a letdown.

Thank you, Joe. I finally gave in to my curiosity to see what all the hoopla was about surrounding the Glacial soaps. I was impressed. Very cold and a fresh scent...

Sincerely appreciated Jason! I just have the cream tube of the L'Occitane....and it was only to get free shipping of their after shave that is supposedly a dupe of Tom Ford's Tobacco Vanille....
