SOTD MONDAY MORNING, MAY 23, 2022

This morning’s shave! Grabbed a soap from the unused pile that I remembered liking! Very nice lather, but the scent gives the bride problems. Fortunately, she left for the office! Enjoy your shaves, I sure did! Nothing like breaking out a new bottle of the “Rub” on a hot, sunny day!

RAZOR: Genco 35 6/8 (Mug), Gillette Big Fellow (Dome)
    BLADE: Feather DE (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: JR Custom Rosewood Handled Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Nuavia Blue
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Osage Rub AS Splash.

I got another pleasant shave this morning with the DX and a Feather ProGuard blade (1st use).
    Pre-shave was the Proraso Blue
Soap was the Genuine Ogallala "Bay Rum".
    After-shave was my Proraso

I used my smallest Simpson brush to do a face lathering. I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG for a smooth shave with minor irritation and a couple nicks near my mouth.
I did get my mustache area really close without even trying. The whole shave was done using the Feather DX with no cleanup. I even got pretty close on my jawline. I didn't push it to get super close so, I can shave tomorrow. :D

I like this soap. It lathers well and is good for face lathering. Really nice scent too. I washed my face with brush squeezings before I cleaned the brush.

I may use the DX again tomorrow to see if I can improve on today's shave and less irritation. I hope all have a fine day!

Very good shave this morning. Only change from yesterday was the Brush-Stoylin Pro Handle, and that allowed for a Stoylin brush to dip in and swirl around a Stoylin soap. Again I didn't bother timing the loading dock action; just waited till the brush looked good enough. I think I had more soap than water, as it looked as if I was spreading CHALK all over my face and neck. Nice job on the cheeks&sideburns. Ditto both sides of Porcupine Alley, although I only covered the lower parts, and thus had to spread a bit on the razor to make sure all got covered. I didn't MEAN to miss the upper parts. Will work on that in the future. Good work down at Cactus Nation. Zero cuts, Knicks, and polka-dots. Outta This World Excellent.

They don't make it easy - I knew they had the plates and still really had to hunt for them.

You go to the site, hit "Shop", choose "All products", then scroll waaaay down to the bottom past "Merch" where they sell logoed clothing to the section "Supplies". One of the options is "Single Shave Setting" and that's the plates. (Another is replacement screws in case you lose the one holding your plate in the razor.). Instead of the old dot system, they now tag the three settings as Sensitive, Classic and Aggressive -- and then the new combed SE plate.

    Hope that helps.

You would think that Supply would make it easier to get the SE combed no nick technology plate for its customers.
