Menthol Monday - not a Grand Freeze but still delightfully cool: Cool shower Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/7 AM day 2 Noxzema Lather SC Prep ASB Booster Polar Ice AS Splash This Noxzema cream…….it’s such a treasure - as I keep saying, it’s my absolute favourite and for many years it was all I used. I LOVE everything about it - the old school scent, it gives the best lather, it’s not overwhelmingly cold but the menthol sensation is so nice, and the skincare is fantastic. The Prep has the same great scent and it’s chock full of soothing not to mention how moisturizing it is. Finally the wonderful Booster Polar Ice aftershave and I smell like I just stepped out of a 60s barbershop. Three passes gave me such an awesome BBS shave that I enjoyed to the max! Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For my Menthol Monday, I should have done better, but it's OK. My order from Williamsport Barber arrived Saturday, and I decided to get going with it today: prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower) lather Stephan Shave Cream In A Tub(Williamsport Barber) brush-Stoylin mid-sized Synthetic razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-Stoylin Glacial Lime I tried to scoop out the cream with my brush, but decided halfway that it might be better after all if I just dig in manually. I'll try that tomorrow. It seemed like just a few seconds of brush work and the thing was covered. Something isn't right about that. The spreading action wasn't that smooth. Manual digging for a shave cream isn't quite my forte, but I'll see how that goes tomorrow. It's hard to describe the scent of this cream, but once on my face and neck it did feel nice and cool. I missed the right side of North Porcupine(just under my nose), and didn't do well on South Porcupine and the North edge of Cactus Nation(neck). I really want to be happy with this tubbed cream, and I hope I am, soon. I finished in style with the Stoylin Glacial Lime A.S. It's almost out, and worth another order, I do believe. I hope to do better tomorrow. Just A Little Bit Outstanding. I might add that this soap is a big tougher than the Kent cream.
Menthol Monday’s Bone Chilling Announcement: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/7 AM day 9 MSC Frosted Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer MSC Frosted Lavender AS Splash Pierre Cardin Cologne Spray Wow this Frosted Lavender soap and aftershave………all I can say is what a magnificent scent and what menthol power. The soap’s tallow formula is so similar to Stirling, the lather is totally awesome, the menthol sensation is easily a match for any of the Glacials, and the skincare is superb. The Gold Bond moisturizer is plenty cold also, and it gives great soothing. The Frosted Lavender aftershave has no stinging or burning because it’s witch hazel based and it’s freezing cold. Finally the Pierre Cardin cologne - it was a gift from my lovely niece and that’s it that’s all. Another beauty of a three pass BBS shave which I enjoyed immensely! Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
For Menthol Monday of this week, I closed out(for now)the prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower) lather-Barbasol Original razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-Pinaud Clubman Gent's Gin I have a theory about the Barbasol I just bought....is it a recent brand? By recent, I mean a brand that the Barbasol company JUST MADE? I just ask because I've never had a better Barbasol shave than with this one. It was better than the first time, but probably because I dunked it in to the running warm tap. Came out in cloud form. Felt great all over, not that much unlike when I had my Rise order from RiseIntl. No damage anywhere. One pass. Fine close from the Clubman Gent's Gin. As Outstanding As It Gets.

Menthol Monday - not a Grand Freeze but nice and cooling: Long shower Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/7 AM day 2 Noxzema Lather SC Prep ASB Booster Polar Ice AS Splash It was impossible for me to resist the Noxzema cream this morning and I think soon I’ll have to start rationing it because I don’t want to go through this tube and the two backups that I still have in record time - there’s no way to get this beautiful stuff again. What a delightful three pass BBS shave this was and I smell like I just stepped out of a 1960s barbershop! Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe! Menthol Monday(8-25): prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower) lather-The Wet Shave Store(El Azulado*) brush-Maggard 24 mm. "Marble Handle" Synthetic razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-Aqua Velva *-Aqua Velva clone Very pleasant shave this morning. A minute at the Loading Dock for the El Azulado soap. Clung nicely to the Maggard brush. My main job today was to erase the 3 Knicks I had yesterday from the same arsenal. I succeeded. Great work across the board. 2 passes. Prior to the second pass, I went in to moisten the brush again, which has become a habit now. Nice finish from the Aqua Velva. As Outstanding As It Gets.
Menthol Monday’s Frigid Announcement: Happy Labour Day Canada! Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/7 AM day 9 Stirling Glacial Mango Sunrise SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Floid Vigoroso AS Splash It felt like heaven to start off September with a Grand Freeze - this Glacial Mango Sunrise soap not only smells gorgeous, it lathers wonderfully, it’s so intensely COLD, and it’s so skin friendly like ALL of my Stirling soaps - my dear brother Rod is a soap and aftershave master. The Gold Bond moisturizer works great as a balm, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave is another menthol atom bomb with such a beautiful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. Another superb three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed from start to finish! Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This morning's Menthol Monday(9-8): prep-Nivea 4 Men Bodywash(in shower) lather-Kent Shave Cream(in small tub) brush-Omega Boar(by Proraso) razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE A.S.-Mennen Skin Bracer Great for this week's MM. The Kent, as much as I do like it, was probably too chilly for this morning(the mornings here in Metro Boston are beginning to cool down now). The Boar Omega brush worked just fine with it,leading to a clean, clear shave all around. 2 healthy passes. Might have done better where the lower jaw connects with Cactus Nation(neck). Will work with that tomorrow. Nice finish with the Skin Bracer A.S. Super Duper Outstanding.
Menthol Monday’s Nuclear Grand Freeze: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Crystal day 5 Stirling Glacial Electric Sheep SS Gold Bond Moisturizer Floid Vigoroso AS Splash Mama mia, this was the coldest shave I’ve had in a while - the Glacial Electric Sheep did a helluva number on my face. This soap is mutton tallow based, it has the same awesome scent as the regular Electric Sheep soap, the lather is such a pleasure to whip up, the menthol sensation is killer cold like all the Glacials, and the postshave care is superb. The Gold Bond moisturizer gave me plenty of extra soothing, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave went on frigidly cold along with its delightful old school barbershop scent that I love so much. The Crystal blade helped to deliver a perfect three pass BBS shave that I enjoyed to the max! Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Menthol Monday’s Special Grand Freeze: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Crystal day 12 MSC Citrus Melody SS* Bundubeard Stoffel ASB MSC Citrus Melody AS Splash Christian Dior Eau Sauvage EdT *This is a different version of the Citrus Melody soap which my dear brother Fernando made for me - the regular one is very cold but this one that I used today is something like FIVE times colder. It’s so intense that it passes the Stirling Glacials and the Chiseled Face Cryogen or even the Absolute Zero from Captain Nemo. This version is also tallow based, it has the same lovely citrusy scent, it takes a bit more of an effort to get the lather right but with a little patience and some extra water your face will be buried, the menthol sensation is borderline painful, (in a good way of course!) and it’s so skin friendly. The Stoffel balm and the Citrus Melody aftershave intensified the freeze big time. Finally the beautiful Eau Sauvage fragrance topped it all off. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave with an insane menthol assault! Wishing you all a great week ahead - be well and stay safe! To all the Jewish members I wish you Shana Tovah U’metukah! Menthol Monday’s Major Grand Freeze: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 5 Bundubeard Kameelperd’s Kick SS Bundubeard Stoffel ASB Floid Vigoroso AS Splash After using a setup like this I think it’ll take just about the entire day for my face to thaw out completely - this Kameelperd soap is something else. The scent is exactly the same as the other two “Kick” soaps - coffee with peppermint notes in such a nice way, it’s also glycerine based, it lathers like there’s no tomorrow, the menthol sensation hits like a sledgehammer, and it’s chock full of skincare. The Stoffel balm is also peppermint scented, just a small amount is needed, it’s also frigid, and the moisturizing as well as the soothing are wonderful. Jaco is a champion artisan, believe me. Last but not least the Floid Vigoroso aftershave is another face freezer with a gorgeous old school barbershop scent. Three passes gave me such a great BBS shave that was lots of fun! Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Menthol Monday: Quick cool shower Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 2 Palmolive Menthol SC Gold Bond Moisturizer Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS Splash Not a Grand Freeze but still cold enough to satisfy my menthol cravings. The Palmolive Menthol has always been a top favourite cream of mine - it’s hard not to love its delightful fresh, minty scent, just a small dab on both cheeks gives such fantastic lather with lots of slickness, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The Gold Bond moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Aqua Velva is another favourite aftershave of mine - do I ever LOVE its old school scent and its icy cold sensation. Three passes did the job for me - what a great BBS shave this was! Wishing you all a nice week - be well and stay safe! Chag Sukkot Sameach to all the Jewish members here! Menthol Monday’s Frigid Announcement: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/Perma Sharp day 8 MSC Frosted Lavender SS Gold Bond Moisturizer MSC Frosted Lavender AS Splash Chabrawichi 555 Cologne (from Egypt) My dear brother Fernando in Johannesburg, South Africa is a Grand Master of shaving soaps and aftershaves - his products are BRILLIANT. This Frosted Lavender scent is GORGEOUS, the soap is a tallow based treasure with incredible lather that’s so thick, super slick, and protective, the blade glide is fabulous, the menthol sensation is mega potent just like any of the Stirling Glacials, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable as well as soothing. The Gold Bond moisturizer works superbly as a balm, and the Frosted Lavender aftershave is witch hazel based with the same delightful scent as the soap, and the freeze it gives is off the charts as well as long lasting. Finally the Chabrawichi cologne from Egypt is as cheap as chips but it has a really nice lemony/lavender scent and it can also be used as an aftershave. Three passes gave me a dynamite BBS shave which was such a pleasure! Wishing you all a great week - Happy Thanksgiving’s Day, Canada! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Menthol Monday’s Intense Grand Freeze: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 3 Stirling Glacial Electric Sheep SS Diana Menthol Balm Noble Otter Northern Elixir AS Splash Actually “intense” is a bit of an understatement because this setup can wreak havoc on anybody who’s not not able to tolerate this type of menthol - the Glacial Electric Sheep is one of the coldest soaps on the market - do I ever LOVE its scent, it’s mutton tallow based, the lather it provides is magnificent, it’s so damned slick, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the skincare is A1. The Diana balm is from Austria, it’s pretty much unscented, it’s very soothing as well as moisturizing, and it delivers tons of icy cold menthol. Finally the Northern Elixir aftershave went on frigidly cold with its nice peppermint/eucalyptus scent. Three passes gave me a helluva great BBS shave - by the way these 7 O’Clock blades are terrific - much better than the 7 AMs! Wishing you all a good week ahead - be well and stay safe! Menthol Monday’s Frigid Announcement: Cool shower Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole Super Speed/7 O’Clock day 10 Stirling Glacial Cedar SS Diana Menthol Balm Stirling Glacial Cedar AS Splash OMG did I ever freeze myself this morning - as I keep saying, this Glacial line from Rod is something else. The cedar scent of this soap is so beautiful and there are other notes to it as well. (Perhaps lime?) The tallow formula promotes such wonderful lather with so much slickness, the menthol sensation is killer cold, and the postshave feeling is so comfortable. The Diana balm from Austria is unscented and bone chillingly cold as well as moisturizing with lots of soothing. Finally the Glacial Cedar aftershave went on with its delightful scent along with a whopping strong menthol kick. Three passes gave me a brilliant BBS shave that was fit for a king!
