I finally fixed the cracked scale on the razor from the inner side (cut a small stripe and glued a small new piece of wood with epoxy), the crack is now hair-thin and barely visible. Test shave was OK but wedge shaves differently from all of razors I have so I need some learning on agles and pass technique. Besides, it seems I can hone the blade a little better too. Anyway, it delivered a solid DFS!

Phone quality, sorry. It is one very personal razor! Tet-a-tet group buy that was organized by Jeff "stingreysrock" years ago was actually the trade. So Dale "PanChango" gave the blade (no trademark, just "Warranted cast steel"), Jeff asked if we can use the TSD name, so that razor was built and became the "overseas" part of the trade. My pity, Russian postal service smashed the parcel, and one scale was cracked on arrival. I brought the situation to near disaster by dropping the razor a couple of months later. So just was hidden on far shelf all this time. Finally last week I put the scales off and repaired the scale from inner side. The crack is very thin, barely visible now, it is reinforced and glued from inside and I finally can get that razor to my rotation. That is the story.

Tip. Don't get Osage in your eye.

First shave with the Gingers Ice. Wished is were colder, but the lather was awesome (for a first try). Protective and slick, smells great as does all of Irena's stuff.

Back home in Atlanta this week. Not 110 degrees but 90 is the forecast.
For this Monday, went for the Gillette Menthol. I like it! Both the Palm Olive Menthol, and the Gillette Menthol are keepers and are worthy for use on Menthol Mondays.....and as always, Osage Rub to finish off the shave.

 

Jeezzzzz, where do you find this stuff...You seem to always have new and exotic menthol product. I feel I got a pretty good inventory, but yours never seems to end. Love your posts! Menthol rules!

I'm in love with the Arko Ice Mint cream - it's the only Arko cream with a decent cooling sensation, not to mention its beautiful scent and lather. I'll soon need to get some more 444 balsam because the tube's almost empty, and I love it. The Barbon aftershave gives great cooling as well - even better than Aqua Velva Ice Blue.

• Cream: Palmolive Cool
• Post: ice cube, alum, T.N. Dickinson's Witch hazel
• Aftershave: Osage Rub

 

I'm a fan of the menthol! I thoroughly enjoy my Proraso Green.

 

Then you really gotta try TSD M Bomb, a menthol additive.
I'll put 4-5 drops in my palm along with my shampoo.
Add 3-4 drops in my lather bowl to mix in with my lather.
Another 2-3 drops in my palm with any aftershave or balm.

There ya go! TSD M Bomb for before, during, and after the shave!!!

A pretty frigid set-up for tomorrow beginning with the L'Oreal Men Expert face wash which has a nice cooling effect which is stronger than the Axe Chilled one. The Gada Cool Mint cream has a LOT of menthol power in it and great lather and skincare and it smells minty/lemony. The Gillette Intense Cooling stuff and Aqua Velva are really icy and enjoyable.

Guys, unless you can tolerate extremely intense menthol my advice is to stay away from this setup. The Gatsby facial wash is EXTREMELY cold, and the cooling effect lingers even if you try to rinse it off with hot water. The Vostok cream has wonderful lather and its menthol power is comparable to Iced Subzero. The Diana Sport balsam is so far, the coldest one I ever used and I don't think the Rubby Dubby Doo needs to be described because it's so frigid!
