I guarantee if you use this set-up you'll be so frozen that you'll need all day to thaw out because even the L'Oreal facial wash is plenty cold. I love the scent of the Lea Menthol as well as its super-rich lather and its menthol power is POTENT. The Diana Sport balm and the Barbon aftershave are two of my most treasured face-freezers. ;) :D

    Menthol Monday!

Prep: cool face wash with African Black Soap, Proraso Green Crema pre Barba
Cream: Proraso Green Sapone de Barba
    Brush: HIS synthetic
    Razor: Maggard m10
    Blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (3)
    AS: Krampert's Finest Frostbite

Great shave! Cold and comfortable, even though I reopened a previous cut due to my carelessness. This shave made me feel a little better today, despite fighting off a cold.
    Have a great Monday.

A month ago came across a thread stating that they had come across the coldest menthol soap to date. Caught my interest as I had not found a summer soap to date that had such a cooling effect as they had stated or as one stated made his eyes water. Couple of days later ran across another thread and same response and even though I had the two iced versions from TSD, QCS, PC, MB only MB version came close to watering my eyes and cooling effect up to 15 minutes after my shave. Well for me, the new champ is from The Yeti Shop and it is called Yeti Snot. Yeah, weird name but this is pretty damn cold. Immediate cooling effect as soon as you lay the lather and the second pass almost made my eyes water. It felt like I was rubbing ice cubes on my cheeks. 15 seconds of swirl more than enough lather for 3 passes and though not as smooth as tallows I normally use, mighty fine shave. It is now 32 minutes since I rinsed off with cold water and still feel the menthol and have yet to put on Krampert's Frostbite aftershave but will do so before I head out the door.

This is a frosty and frigid set-up which will please the fussiest of menthol addicts like myself. The L'Oreal facial wash is pretty darned cold when it's been on your face for a couple of minutes. The Permafrost stick which is now a vintage item delivers a HELL of a menthol sensation which cause your eyes to water up, and the Diana Sport balm and the Rubby Dubby Doo literallly put the icing (no pun intended!) on the cake. Man, I love those Rapiras. ;) :D

Jeff, this is as good a place as we have to ask: What's the coldest cream in your rotation?

    Menthol Monday!

I decided to go for the cool today, and Proraso did not disappoint. I was running a bit late, so I rushed my shave and now I have some irritation. It's not much, but it is noticeable. I nicked my earlobe, too. DFS in any event. Lesson: slow down!

I have a Stirling Glacial soap on the way but until I receive it, as far as I'm concerned JoAnna's famous Iced Subzero soap is the coldest I've ever used. It also has magnificent lather with perfect skincare and a nice frigid scent. No balm can match this Austrian-made Diana Sport stuff, and you can't get too much colder than the Rubby Dubby Doo. ;) :D [IMG]

I never ever thought that I would experience a soap which could out-freeze my Iced Subzero or Vostok but it finally happened. This Stirling Glacial is the "Mother of All Freeze-a-Man's Face-to-Death" shaving soaps. Its menthol power is so intense and potent that if you're going to use it, you'd better be able to tolerate extremely strong menthol. The lather is not that easy to create - I did two test-latherings already and patience is required to get a decent and workable lather. Its scent is very nice also - very much to my nostrils like Vick's Vapo Rub, although in a more pleasant way. Its skincare is fabulous - although I always use a balm, I don't feel as if I need one. The Diana Sport balm is a perfect companion to this super-icy soap because of the intense cooling it provides and the Rubby Dubby Doo is the ultimate face-freezing aftershave! ;) :D

    Sorry, no photos! :)

Sorry for my late reply. I'd say cream-wise that it's a toss-up between Godrej Menthol Mist and Palmolive Menthol. :)

No worries; the question got buried in a mountain of icy goodness. Thanks!

In other news, tried out the Speick today, which allegedly has menthol in it; there wasn't enough even for my face, which isn't as sensitized to the menthol as some of the veterans here, to notice a freeze, so I'm not sure if it qualifies as a real Menthol Monday option.

As far as I know Speick has no menthol in it whatsoever, although it's a very good and soothing cream. :)

My Menthol Monday started off with a face freeze:

    TSD Iced SubZero Preshave Balm
    Shave Secret Shave Oil
    TSD SubZero Wheat Shaving Cream
    Gillette Black Beauty (long handle)
    Derby Extra Blade
    TSD SubZero Aftershave Milk

    (I'm a certified menthol junkie)
