I never knew about the Merkur 11c. I always thought to myself what if Merkur made a OpenComb version of the 34 c . 2peice and everything not like the modern 15 c that’s a 3 peice. and I come along this one day on eBay for about $27 shipped. And I when I did my research on that I found out that they start being in production about 20 or something years ago. None of the traditional West savers in the groups have owned one or knows anybody that owned one besides I think besides two people have heard about it or know somebody that has one. But they few and far between. what’s your opinion on this razor? do you like it? If given the opportunity would you buy one? Do you already love the Merkur 34 c? would you like it in the 2-price open comb version a little bit better? Lastly HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK ITS WORTH?! I’m not sure I’m guessing around $85 -$100
@Mike-R41 I have one. I've had it for 6-8 years. Shaves well enough. Given the choice between this and the 34HD (the 34C is chrome, the 34G is gold - I have one of each), I'll take the 34 and not even blink.
I agree with Steve on this one. I have had 2 of them, a 34c and a 37c. Of them, the 34c was my preferred razor. If I remember correctly, I thought the 11c was overly mild and took more effort to get a good shave than I wanted to spend. The 23c head on a similarly weighted handle will give you a comparable shave.
Yup. Very mild. Anyone who says an open comb is more aggressive than a closed comb has no clue what they're talking about. Some are, some aren't (more aggressive, that is).
I started my journey with a 34C and did own an 11C as well. It was a fine razor, but I switched to mostly SE and never used it, so I sold it.
I have a gold rebranded one I think. This is a D.Corrado Inc branded one. I got several years ago on ebay. I havent seen another since. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
