todays shave Razor: schick krona Blade: gillette silver blue (1) Soap: Tabac Aftershave: alum block, Avon spicy I really enjoy this combo, gave a great 2 pass bbs.
1950 US made Gillette Executive, my understanding they only made these for the Christmas season in 49 and 50. It looks like an Aristocrat but shaves like a 3pc tech.
Eastern European possibly Soviet most likely 60s era. This shaves like a smoother version of a Schick Krona.
Here is another one I would classify as mild but deadly. This one could fall on the borderline like the red tip but it is the best mild shaver I can remember using. I think this maybe the only Goodwill that the base plate is based upon the New Long Comb. Gillette Canadian Goodwill 175
Recommendation taken. It also helps I managed to snag this one for under $10. If this is comparable to a 3pc tech then this maybe the most underrated best value vintage in the mild range. I should get to it by Monday or Tuesday to shave with.
tha thank you keith..i was amazed at the condition when it arrived.wasn t listed as nos,and item ended and reposted before i hit the button.wasn t sure what it was until later.$50
The verdict is in. This razor is mild alright and real finicky about shave angle. You almost have to ride the cap to get this to cut hair. It is not a bad razor once you work out the shave angle but I wouldn't rate it any better than a post war tech or Krona. It doesn't matter how sharp the blade is when it barely makes contact with the hair let alone skin. I can see why these razors never took off like the 3pc techs because of the cutting angle issue. The Tech or Krona just plain shaves regardless of angle making them easier to use. To much work for too little return is how I would summarize the Star 3pc.
