Veddy nice shave. Kind of like using a feather weight.

Tried the new V3M head from maggards on a recent purchase of some soap. Figured for under $10 for the head, who cares if it didn't work. Very surprised in a good way. The design is similar to a tech, with 4 corner posts vs 2 central, and the base plate is more curved than the tech. Comparable shave would be Karve C plate, with the V3M being slightly more efficient, but with slightly less blade feel. If you're a daily shaver, with a light to med coarse growth and like mild shavers, I'd throw this one in with the next order.

I'm giving SEs a try for the first time. Any recommendations for mild ones? Thanks.

A Gem push button and a Gem contour are excellent mild SE shavers.

    What about the Featherweight?

It’s mild, but less mild than a contour or a push button, even though the push button is technically the same head. A Gem G bar is also very nice if you’re looking at a Featherweight.

The micromatics- open comb, clog prof, flying wing( bullet tip), the little lather catchers, and shovel heads are the most common models on the aggressive side. The true old lather catchers( 90-100yrs) are usually medium aggressiveness to aggressive, but some are very smooth.

Nice setup. If your Blue Tip seems a little mild try shimming it with a used trimmed down blade. I did it with my Red Tip and it made it a little more aggressive. The shave is still smooth and comfortable.
