Received my MWF yesterday. Used it this morning. WOW!!
After blooming it while brushing my teeth I turned my Omega 10098 loose. 90 seconds on the puck and 45 in the bowl and viola!! a slick, cushiony lather.
Post shave feel was fantastic. Smooth and soft. I'm in.

Agree. Haslinger is a good soap but it has neither the cushion nor post-shave properties of MWF.

From one MWF fan to another, if you like smooth and soft post-shave feel you gotta try D R Harris soaps.

Nope. Let it bloom, squeezed most of the water out of the brush, and then after working the puck, dribbled water on the brush during the swirl. Lathered like crazy

No shave until Sunday when my blade auditions start for my Gillette 1911 OLD. First soap THE FAT!
    First blade Gillette Silver Blue.

Great review. MWF was one of my first soaps when I fell down this wet shaving rabbit hole and I immediately fell in love with this product. Great scent, easy to lather and good cushion. I also started buying MWF bath soap and it is also a great soap. 10/10 in my books...at any price!

Used The Fat this evening as I do every Friday. I could use it exclusively and be quite content. It's a great soap.

    This.

    This.

Folks who aren't getting great results from their MWF are not working the lather long enough. Takes longer to make a shaving lather than any other soap I've ever used. Waaaaay longer than you think it should take, and most folks simply do not work the lather long enough.

If you have the patience to extract the best the soap has to offer, it is simply wonderful.

I do find however unlike OP, I get best results with minimal water. Much less than most hard soaps. Insert obligatory YMMV here :D .

MWF is a thirsty soap just like Williams. I've used both of them this past month equally and once I started lathering the Williams like I do MWF it just explodes with rich creamy lather. I soak the pucks in hot tap water while my Boar brush soaks.

As I said, YMMV. I agree, Williams is CRAZY thirsty. MWF works magnificently for me with very minimal water. I should add I'm bowl lathering here, not face lathering.

I face lather the MWF, and bowl lather the Williams. Williams always needs a little more work with the brush to get the lather perfect.

I actually really like Williams. A great soap that won't break the bank. Its value is only matched by Arko (if you can stand the scent).

I'm a bowl latherer and so far haven't had a problem(knocks on nearest wooden object)

I agree and think Williams does better with bowl lathering. I've also face lathered with good success.

Arko's great soap, just leave it out on the counter. The scent will calm down. To me it smells like Ivory soap.

Awesome review. I must have got lucky on my first attempt lathering MWF with a 2-band badger. Good cushion, glide and a decent amount of lather for slatherin. I like MWF and it always gives me good results. I wish It had a bit more scent but it's a keeper and a refiller in my rotation.
