After 2 defective razors and 2 months, Mongoose had forgotten about me. So I emailed them and now they have offered to sell me a razor. I'm waiting for their invoice since yesterday. I hope they send invoice before Maggard is sold out of them. I don't know what's the hold up and why they are taking so long to send an invoice. It's funny that I'm listed as member #19 and I haven't even used any Mongoose razor.
Im kind of disappointed at the blade uses from my first Feather Pro. Just finished my sixth shave. It was definitely not comfortable. I should have stopped after the 4th shave. That is not very economical haha. I read people get 8-20 shaves per blade... Do they even have facial hair or does copper wire grow out it my face?
I get 4 shaves out of feather pro or kai mild blades. I believe people who say they can get 15-20 shaves (assuming they do a full 3 pass shave) have very light whiskers. Some think they have very tough beard but in reality they are just kidding themselves
Yes, I am coming to that conclusion. It's kinda sucks, I was hoping to get more out of 1 blade, but 4-5 shaves is okey I guess. 20 pack gives me 100 shaves. I only do 2 passes
The goose is lose! Officially a Mongoose owner. Jesus this thing is crazy efficient. The Supers seem a bit harsh, but I feel like it will smooth out a bit after a couple shaves. Heres my first shave with it
There has been a discussion on another forum about deteriorating and/or inconsistent quality of Feather blades in last 3-4 years. A member claimed that his Feather Pro blades purchased prior to 2011 lasted longer than the current production he started using. Who knows? I get 4 decent shaves out of Pro blades; which is 2 more shaves than what I get from any DE blade. And I don't even have excessively heavy beard.
I was invoiced today so it should arrive this week. They have assured me this time they will inspect razor. Fingers crossed. My experience with Feather Pro blades longevity is based on their usage with my Feather AC SS shavette.
That is possible. But why Would they make the blade less effective rather than making them better? Perhaps the process has been shortened and the quality has decreased. I wouldn't know =P
Its true, i do not shave Everyday. But i sure Would have liked it if I could get more Shaves out of a 20 pack =) but 100 shaves or so is still okey/good =P
I only get 7 daily shaves out of a Feather Pro blade. I do usually do the first pass either ATG or XTG which helps me limit the number of passes on my shave.
I get 9 shaves out of the Professional blades. I strop the blade on my palm or on a linen strop before using it and it does help. For me the blade doesn't actually give me a smooth shave until the fourth shave even after stropping. Also, I have a dense 50% gray 45 year old beard that only conceeds to a very sharp blade. I have been using the Goose for over a year and have yet to try the Feather Super blades, but I received a pack yesterday in the mail and look forward to giving them a try.
