Yes it is Clint. I was really surprised how well it shaved right out of the box. I want to spend some time with the AlumiGoose and experiment with a few ideas I have. I've been reading through the MORS thread, which is full of excellent information.
Thank you Doug. Both of those are Triad handles. There is a thread in the Artisan section on TSN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Razor: Alumigoose in Black Blade: Feather Professional (2) Brush: Omega Professional 10098 Boar Soap: Route 66 Ghost Town A/S: Fine L'Orange Noir
Thanks Clint. I really like the look also. I heard today that Mongoose are going to make their gunmetal gray razor any more.
I have notices the same things. They are in stock almost everyday at Maggard and Straight Razor Design. Not having a long wait tends to lower the price of used. Also, new Artist Club razors coming to market from ATT now with other makers on sale later this summer. People always jump to the hot new thing. These are just my thoughts. YMMV
Razor: AlumiGoose w/Bluebeards Revenge Handle Blade: Feather Professional (3) Brush: Omega 10066 Boar Soap: TSD 2x Iced Oak Moss Sandalwood A/S: Folsom & Co. Capri I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to post after my shave today as a result of the amount of rain we where supposed to get. Fortunately they where wrong. I change from the stock AlumiGoose handle (34.0 grams) to the Bluebeards Revenge Handle (45.8 grams) which made a big difference in the performance of the razor. Had a very close comfortable shave with the heavier handle. Finished with Folsom & Co. Capri. Outstanding finish.
I'm going to try a different handle on the AlumiGoose this afternoon. I seem to remember you mentioning something about a heavier handle.
No problem!! Yes I did. YMMV but a heavier handle turned my Goose from a great shaver into a perfect shaver.
The heavier handle made a huge difference in the performance of the AlumiGoose. Thanks... I read through this whole thread and that helped also. Is there much of a difference in the other Mongoose heads to warrant purchasing more heads? The biggest difference is the weight of the Stainless Steel head and handle. (54g-86g)
