1. Congrats, and I hope you receive your order soon! Were you already able to order the OC baseplate? I thought it would be offered later, but I could be mistaken.

And just remember, you can only use your new Mongoose for three days, and then you'll have to move on to one of your other razors. :D

  2. It's a little bit unclear if the OC head is to be manufactured in parallel with the regular handles and heads as the backlog is being cleared out...or if they will be manufactured once the backlog is gone. You can't really 'order' the OC plate you can email them and log your interest in one and you end up on a waiting list.

Bah humbug to three days when I get this baby - I'm going for a full week :D

  3. I have expressed my interest on a OC base plate and expect I'll have to wait for a while. I understood that they wanted to clear the back log for the Mongoose razor requests and get some inventory built up before producing the other variants. But who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and get the OC base plate much faster.

  4. Nice :happy088:

I went with polished to match a certain handle I have in mind. Can't hardly wait!

  6. Got an update today from Mongoose and they are working through their order log and and currently shipping razors that were ordered/entered the waiting list around middle of February of this year.

  7. HAHAHAHA WHAT? Really
  8. Well, they've been working through the waiting list going back to December of last year I believe.
They were down for quite a bit for re-tooling but got production back up in April.

  9. I had not seen this thread and am not on FB so this OC razor news sounds amazing! I'm still deeply in love with my Mongoose because it gives me the smoothest shave, but it is on the mild side.
  10. I too am looking forward to the OC baseplate. What blades to you use with the Mongoose?
  11. So I got the satin head only and paired it with the Weber classic handle. I used both Feather Pro and Kai mild with great success. I got a sample from tryablade and looking to try all the other options.
  12. I have a Satin head that I use on a Hempel titanium handle. I agree that the razor is relitvely mild with the Feather Pro and Kai Mild. Let me know your thoughts when you try out the Feather Super Pro blades. After trying all the blade options, the Supers are my favorite.

  13. Will do! It's my next on the list, but seeing that they last me over 10 shaves, going through the 9 options may take awhile!
  14. Cool. I'm getting 14 shaves or so out od each Super blade.
  15. Try the Feather Pro SUPER

  16. They are so slow.. But it's interesting to know If I ever wanna try mongoose I only need the head
  17. First try of the Pro Super this morning and after 2 smooth passes, I've got a near BBS just like I'd get with my R41 and personna lab blue. Quite impressed with it so far!
  18. The Super Pro blades give a really close shave. For me my first pass with the Super in the Mongoose is ATG followed by XTG and it is always near BBS or BBS. This works for me until I have about 12 shaves on the blade then it ends up being closer to 3 full passes to get the same results.

  19. So how long do you keep a single blade for?
  20. I get 14 daily shaves out of the Super Blades and for comparison I never get more than 3 at most 4 shaves out of a DE blade. I could squeeze a few more but usually the last shave is just less efficient. Plus it's easy for me to remember to change the blades every other weekend.
