Motor Oil scented shaving soap

I would love to have a shave soap that smells like Hoppes #9.

 

Midnight Stag by Chiseled Face has Hoppes 9 in it along with gasoline, rubber, Russian leather, smoke, gunpowder, etc. I need to get some

 

I have Redneck from CF, I can tell you the oil is hard to distinguish. I mostly get fresh earth or dirt. Interesting soap.

Valvoline and Super Tech do, yes. Quaker State, Mobil and Havoline are straightforward, a real man's oils. Pennzoil is too floral.

 

So is this headed towards a discussion of synthetic versus dinosaur?

That's a good one. I remember hearing something about these new car smell sprays that would be used in different cars; one targeting women, one corporate guys, one for lumberjacks, etc. Was supposed to be subtle and subliminal. Not sure if it's actually true.

 

They worked in that their subliminal messaging got somebody to buy them.

 

Strange how one can pick up different things. To me it has a distinct auto shop quality. Soap batch or age difference could have a bearing, though.

 

I honestly though, can't for the life of me understand why a dude would want to smell like an auto shop on purpose. If you want to smell like a shop, go be in a shop.
