Musings upon our reality

One thing that I noticed on last week's road trip was that the state of Virginia has an obsession with road signs that read "Speed Limit Enforced By Aircraft", an ominous pronouncement. After all, it's not like they are firing tracer rounds at the road in front of speeding cars.

 

I can’t reconcile the fact that the Commonwealth of Virginia has a “State Police”....

 

Our Commonwealth does too...should be called the "Commonwealth Police"

 

Mark Wahlberg is a son of Boston. We know he is a famous actor now.

As I ponder our reality, I must ask:

Whatever became of the Funky Bunch?

 

Maybe being Funky got too mainstream?
Did it go Po-dunk?

A few years ago, I️ saw The Minnesota Orchestra perform “Bugs Bunny at the Orchestra”. It was one of the coolest things I️ have ever seen.

I laughed heartily when I first heard "Play That Funky Music".

 

I thought the Union tour was in 1991. I saw the show in NY.

 

My sister has been saying "funky" a lot now.. It just isn't her. But she always picks up on current communication styles. Not me...I'll say "weird" even if I am the last one to do so.

 

Has anyone else noticed that the word "sketchy" is suddenly become overused, especially by the younger set?

You could be right. I saw them "in the round" when I was a senior in high school, 1978-79.
