i was thinking of getting cabinet with the large main section(wifes section) and the small section on the left that looks very similar to yours so i could keep some items in bathroom. currently keep just what im using in there for the week so :/
Brief follow-up: It's been nearly a week of my getting used to using both the extending mirror and finding where I've placed items in the new cabinet. The extending mirror really is a blessing! My being able to adjust the mirror—tilting left/right, or up/down—to take advantage of the natural lighting as well as being able to see my mug from different angles makes the shaving experience all the more pleasurable and efficient. This capability to angle the mirror is particularly helpful when using a straight razor. No more flat-mirror-on-the-wall shaving for me! The cabinet in the wall is also great—but I realize I am quickly going to outgrow the capacity if I continue to bring in more stuff faster than I can use it up. Gotta stop feeding the monster!
Thank you. It took a good amount of time, money & effort to get the room to the current place it is in—and now, both my wife and I can finally reap the benefits. I figured since I do enjoy the peace and tranquility of wet-shaving, I may as well have the location be as equally pleasurable as the act.
Great bit of work and a very nice choice of fixtures and fittings. I fully agree with you on the adjustable mirror, the magnification side might be scary but it's probably one of my most favourite bits of equipment. Well done
I know that this thread is a couple of weeks old, That I didn't see it before now. Great work looks outstanding all I can saw is WOW!
Thanks, Patrick. Since the cabinet addition, I've been working on some ideas for the vanity drawers—similar to the divided spaces found in silverware drawers (example shown below). Two-tiered shelving is a bit more work, but doubles the capacity. The first thing I need to do is mock up the drawer's contents (4 drawers on each side of the vanity) to determine the layout. This will keep me busy for a while… Kitchen drawer sample…
WOW. No, Really, WOW. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that aren't as nice as your bathroom !!!! If I ever visit your neck of the woods can I rent your bathroom for the night? I'll bring my own pillows
he has enough stuff, beautiful setup to use it in. I recommend putting Rogaine in your preshave oil. and shave twice daily
Kevin, have you ever looked in that old wood dresser to see who the mfg was? I have a complete bedroom set that has a lot of resemblance
No, Lou, I haven't as this vanity isn't truly an 'antique.' It's a modern version that was a probably assembled in China. Unlike the fine old furniture of old, there's plenty of veneer used and simple joinery. I suppose I should LINK this thread to the follow-up thread HERE
