A few days ago I was not sure if I wanted to go wet or what to buy even if I did. I was not yet aware of this forum so I just went to Amazon and ordered the cheapest Mercur available. It was $19.something so I figured that wasn't too much to invest. It came yesterday. To the eye it looked like I got a pretty good bargain. Being retired I don't shave every day but today I couldn't hold back the anticipation and had to give it a try. Shave foam out of a can and away I went. I have to say I'm amazed. The best shave I've had since I don't know when and what's further amazing is I don't have one nick. If I can get a shave like this for less than a $20.00 investment I can't wait till I gain some knowledge and learn how to do this the right way.
That's great to hear you are off to a good start! It gets even better with time if you can believe that. Pressure and maping your beard growth will help with technique.

Glad to hear that things are working out for you!!! Your shaves will greatly improve with practice and once you get more gear like a good brush, soap, and aftershave. I'd highly recommend picking up the Vander hagen luxury soap it's a great soap and its only 4 bucks. Also I'd say get an Omega boar brush for like 10 bucks on line.
