I've probably given 10 differnent blades a go. You know what, I'm one of those guys that Derby's just work great for. I have a couple hundred of them, and actually really love them. Feathers are lovely for a now and then, I've got a bit of a beard super-duper ultra close shave, too. For some reason, though....I really reallly want to try these. Must....not.....buy.....more.....blades. Edit, almost just ordered a 10 pack, but wouldn't gotten nailed for 8.90 shipping. I'll wait for the group buy!!

Thanks to Etoyoc, who gave me a pack of Voskhods in a PIF! I'm on my second blade of that pack now, and I've already ordered 100 more. Excellent shave for me, very similar to my favorite Iridiums. I managed to buy a stash of Iridiums sufficient for a couple of years, but I've been looking for a worthy successor. This is it! Maybe I should have ordered more...what if these become unavailable??
Usually use Super Iridiums, but the day is coming when I won't have any left! So I tried the Voskhod. Long lasting, I agree. They shave every time like a Feather does on the first shave; a bit rough. Think I like 7 O'Clock yellows better but they do not last as long.
I received a pack with my PIF'd Super Speed from Jeff yesterday. I wasn't expecting him to send the Russian blades, so I was excited t o give them a try this morning. Well, I can say that I had my smoothest shave yet with the SS and Voskhods blades this morning! My face still feels smooth! Very smooth with absolutely no blood loss...another first!
Tonight was my first DE shave, no more mack 3, 4 ,5"s for me, im a new man tonight, what a BBS SHAVE...i used my Edwin 89 with the voskhod blade, no cuts, burn, nothing but smooth sailing..this is great..im hooked!!
I just used a Voskhod in a SS this morning...now I have to try it in my EJ. I can't believe I'm even thinking about shaving on my days off from the fire station.
I too tried the Voshkods from a PIF from both Coyote (backwards) and Jeff. Man! Those blades are amazing. It was one of those check to see if a blade is loaded moments. I only got 3 good shave though. The 4th was a bit rough, but overall a superior blade IMO.
I was only using my Mach 3 Turbo's 3 times maybe 4 before tossing. That's how I found this site, I got tired of the high prices and seemingly lower quality. I don't mind tossing an 18 cent blade after 3 great shaves! The Mach 3 blades were running about $2.50-$3.00 each....ouch! If I get 3 GREAT shaves out of any of the DE blades, for what I'm paying for them, I'm HAPPY!
