Mystery Blade I just got my 100 pack of Voskhod blades - YEA!!!! I ordered them from Razor Blades and More - very great service and fast shipping. Along with my order I received a small envelope that contained 5 blades wrapped in white paper. Nothing on the blade except some arrows. Has anybody ordered from Razor Blades and more and know what I am talking about? If so do we know what blades they are? Or how they shave???
I've had a few of those mystery/seemingly generic blades.....not horrible in my experience IF they are the same nondescript blades I had.
Why not send Razor Blades and More an email and ask? I got a 100 Voskhods from them too, but no mystery blades. I just ordered one of those Weishi Gun Metal Razors and it comes with 10 Dorco blades. Is that what they are? I've never seen the Dorco blades, so I don't know what they look like.
Great Blade I have now tried these blades in every razor I own and I can say they work equally well in all of them. They provide a clean, nick free, smooth, sharp shave that helps reduce/eliminate razor burn. I will eventually try the other Russian brand to see if any differences exist. Mike
OK good idea. So I did that and David from RB&M told me that they are the Barber Personnas. I tried one this morning in my Tech (the razor I always use for trying new blades) and it was a pretty good shave.
Cool. Wonder does that mean it's a professional use blade and that's why there's no writing on it?? I know sometimes items packaged for professional use doesn't have the same packaging as for the private consumer. I'm waiting on my new Weishi razor in gun metal to arrive from them...hope it gets here today!
I have found equal results with the Voskhod. The Sputnik blades are similar in smoothness but I did not get as many shaves out of each blade like the Voskhod. No if I could just get a Teflon spattered straight...
One shave down with the Vokshod and so far.....ME LIKELY....it is sharp enough and smooth enough to provide a very good shave.
I've used and enjoyed the Voskhod also. I just checked razorbladesandmore and the blade isn't listed for sale. Did I miss it, has he stopped selling it or is it just out of stock??
I just recently picked up 50 blades and wow what a great shave! 2 shaves in my slim (thanks jeff) and its been great shaves.
You know, I've only used about 6 different blades so far. But after using the Voskhods several times, I just don't know that I'll find another blade more comfortable! I got my new Weishi Gun Metal and I used a Shark in it and made 3 passes. Even though the Weishi is a very mild razor, the Shark was still not that comfortable to me. I did not get a very close shave even though the Shark was new. I picked up my Super Speed that had a Voskhod on it's 3rd shave, lathered up again, and got a VERY comfortable BBS shave! It was amazing how much better the Voskhod shaved and how much more comfortable it was even after it had already been used 3 times. I've been trying different razor/blade combos and it seems that no matter which razor I use, I still keep coming back to the Rooskie blades! I think I've found shaving bliss!
Loaded up my second Voshkod last night and it is the same, amazingly comfortable and simple to get a nick free BBS. That is 4 shaves that bordered on perfect with 3 different razors. So in a New Standard, a Merkur HD and Slant they are superior to any other blade I have tried. The green 7'oclocks permasharps are really close, but I think the Voshkods take them.
