"I love this soap, and I'm having great shaves...so I'll buy a completely different brand and hope it's as good!" You wet shaver guys are weird, you know that right..?
Weird weird!! Whose weird?!? We're not weird we're, "UNIQUE", yeah that's it unique.. Some of us are just a "LITTLE" bit more unique than others!
My first impression of Arko wasn't "urinal cakes", but more like a really strong and clean soap smell. It is an incredibly strong smell at first, so I gave mine some time to breathe. I broke it up into chunks and pressed it into a small bowl, and left the bowl uncovered. Whether I used the soap or not, each day for a week I submerged that bowl in warm water for a couple minutes and then drained the water and set it aside. It remains easy to identify as Arko, but after a week the smell had lessened substantially. Overall I find it very good soap, and I like it.
I'm definitely going to give Arko a try. One of the benefits of working in a chemical plant over 30 years; I'm sure the smell will be far from being offensive
Good call! Had my second shave with it today and couldn't be happier with the results it's giving me.
@grump - Were you just going to ask for my mailing address, so you have somewhere to send them then? I'm actually surprised how long it's lasting. Honestly, you can get a good 300-400 shaves with one stick!
Another thing I really like about Arko is that it very pliable and although it comes in sticks as well as pucks, which is great for those who enjoy face lathering as well as bowl lathering. I found its MUCH easier to turn a stick into a puck than the other way around and sticks are easier to store in quantity.
With a puck you could use a deli slicer and make grilled Arko on rye. Let that lemon flavor shine through...
