Here is the contents of the box when removed.

The mirror on the bottom is turned around so the flash would not rebound into the camera.

Now I will begin my sampling time and then determine what will be removed and added as part of the box activity.
Then I will load the blades in its own envelope with checklist for the blade game and it will more than likely be on to the next person in about 2 weeks.

Remember to get your post cards because they are not as easy to come by as they use to be.

Perhaps this hasn't been asked, maybe it has and I missed it... As a wet shaving community, we are doing a pass along box for others to have the opportunity to try something different. I'm stressing the wet shaving part... Why do we have cartridge parts in the box? Are we not trying to encourage people to move away from this evil?

Wet shaving and Traditional shaving are slightly different or one is more refined. Wet Shaving is defined as using any "non electric" cutting device (including cartridges) with a brush, water and soap where blades contact skin. Traditional shaving takes wet shaving one step further and goes back to pre-cartridge systems only (DE/Injectors/SEs/Straights).

I still use the two bladed Trac II, Atra and Slim Twins for travel, head shaving and for when I need to move quicker than normal in the morning for "emergency" activities at work, so I would not classify those now thirty bounding on forty year old two bladed designs as evil.

Some users may actually want to try a cartridge system that they have never used before such as the older Sensor or Slim Twin systems. This came with the box and since I have used all these systems, they will leave with the box.

    O.K.

The box is on its way. Luteplayers, you are next. Remember the blade challenge and the postcards. I have the blades in the packet and a manifest to mark down your selection.
The rules are restated on the package. We will await your selection and the results of your shave with one of the blades.

Here is the box as it currently is constituted.

Here is what I took from the box.

Here is what I added (less the blade package which is seen on the top of the box image above.

Since there were Slim Twin cartridges in the box, I provided a Slim Twin razor which switches from fixed to pivoting modes.

    Let the box continue on.

As you can also see in the photo of what I added, there is one GDC prototype handle and another handle I acquired earlier based on the VDH in wood for those who are interested in doing their own brushes.

Allow me to vouch for the quality of the Slim Twin carts. There's two types - with and without lube strip. Lube strip's definitely an improvement for them but both types shave very well, plus the pushbutton lets you clean them out, extending their lives.

In my opinion (maybe just mine) the ST was the apex of cartridge technology. All other cartridges after that three blade and forward was just a set of gimmicks to enhance razor manufacturer profits at the expense of the customer.

Given my respect for a certain current Multiblade Cart That Shall Not Be Named, I'll agree with you as far as to say the ST was the apex of 2 blade carts and surpassed any three blade cart I've tried (which is most of them). And it came with a darn fine handle, too.

Glad I found several packs to put back.

EDIT: Smooth shave-wise, for me the Wilkinson Bonded blows away Trac II, Atra and Slim Twin, but ST is in close 2nd place.

The box is on the road, please do not forget to take a photo of what you removed, what you add. Do not be like me and forget the postcard.
Have a great time with the box.!!

Just wanted to ask a quick question. I just got some MR GLO last week but it started to irritate and burn my skin, so I am not going to use it anymore. Is this something people would be interested in? Keep in mind I used is for about a week (wet it, rubbed it in my hands, then washed my face with my hands). This is my first box tour so I'm not sure what the general consensus is on lightly a used soap like this. FYI all other items I plan to add are unused.

It would be fine most of the products in the box are previously used. The box has made it's first stop.

One can still wet shave with cartridge razors. Most of us don't really consider cartridge razors as "evil," rather we consider most cartridges to be over priced and inferior. This forum is all about improving your shave. There are people who come here, learn about shaving and go on using cartridge razors and goo, albeit with far more comfort, using skills and knowledge they learned from us. Face mapping, directions of hair growth, proper pre-shave and post-shave treatments, all of these things can be applied to modern cartridge and even electric razors.

Many wet shavers fall back on the cartridge razor for travel, as TSA guidelines prohibit DE blades from being carried on board planes in your carry-on, and not all passengers check their luggage.
