I reported this in another thread, but I will go ahead and report here that I am out for NB18 already.
Replying to my own post, just because, the wooden straight razor box is wooden, and it has very nice brass furniture (I'll post it when I get finished cleaning it up), but while it can be used for a razor, I don't think that's what it was made for. It's like a coffin, with brass strips (and nails holding down the brass strips). In between the strips, however, is some really nice metalwork that appears to be silver plated, or possibly nickel. Should look nice after a buffer run and then coating with lacquer.
Still here and doing well. No real temptations so far except the One Blade Core razor but am resisting. Maybe my bride will help me with that for Father's Day.
Erik, Do you think the longer you've been wet shaving the less you have the need to buy the latest and greatest? Kerry
That's GREAT! I foresee one more purchase for me in the near future, and I'm calling it quits. No Buy 18.
Well I haven't bought anything (other than consumables I.e blades and AS, my favorite I use 3-4 days a week) since around May 2015. And don't foresee ever buying anything again except consumable products. I am the odd guy out on this forum. Now pipe smoking has taken over my various AD's.
Well, I have 8 brushes I rotate thru and see no need or benefit of additional ones. I'm perfectly happy sticking with my birth year TV Special and my stash of DE blades for now. I've been working on a tub of Tabak for a few months, and have other creams and soaps stashed. I still have enough DE blade to last awhile, mostly Personna Blue, Astra and Feathers. I never was into the latest and greatest, but just different items to compare. I've got a good idea what I like and don't like now. I know Williams is in the "don't like" category. Of course, I just switched to a different hobby to explore and squander my money. I expect when I settle in on that it will be something else.
