Is it just me, or do others love the smell of a new (maybe used one or twice) damp badger brush? In fact I think I am liking it more, the more I smell it. I am super impressed with the gift my son gave me for Xmas and for helping him out recently with his car. He presented me with a Edwin Jagger hand stitched leather case and chromed badger travel brush/mach 3 style razor combo. Whoops. Here is the other pic that was supposed to be here :-(
Nice Christmas gift, but I gotta disagree about enjoying the smell of a new brush, either badger or boar.
Very nice gift! That's a sweet brush. I love the smell of the brushes after you use a bunch of different soaps with them. It's an awesome meld of all my favorite scents!
I _hate_ the smell of wet new brush. Especially my new horse brush.. oh my god the gag-reflex was hot and ready! My badger and boars weren't much different, the Semogue the least smelly. Do not like! I have a Williams puck I tend to use to soak new brushes in, just to get the worst out.
I have to join the majority here...the only time I like the way a brush smells is after it is infused with the scent of multiple soaps.
Wow, that is beautiful! An excellent Christmas present to be sure. I saw the scuttle you got in this post, too. It looks like you had a very good Christmas indeed. I hope you enjoy all your new shaving gear in the 2014 and beyond.
It is a handsome gift. But I don't care for the smell of a new brush either. I just think of it as a necessary evil, because I LOVE the way a badger brush feels.
