New DE blades by Gillette

I would love to find a 100 count box!

 

Looks like it's time to search my local Walgreens locations. Anyone aware of any stores besides Walgreens that are currently carrying these?

 

Apparently CVS has them and some local supermarket chains. As I suspected, the price is coming down now that there are more retailers trying to compete. $4.99 for nine blades now.

 

Great I have lots of cvs nearby. I'll see if I can find some in the morning. I have a stockpile of over 6000 vintage Gillette and wilkinson blades, but man I love being able to find stuff locally.

 

Found some at the Walgreens @ 56th and Georgetown, along with some other decent shaving finds. Florida Water aftershave was a great find!!!

 

just to update....these blades are excellent...I get 6+ shaves out every blade, and havent had a single "bad" one yet...price still is high, but I really like them.

 

Glad to see someone else likes them too! I have found them to be a great blade.

 

I bought some at my local Walgreens but haven't tried them yet. My local cvs didn't have them. It always feels nice to be able to buy locally.

 

I bought a pack of vintage blades in the original 10 blue dispenser unopened I tried to shave with it and it was horrible

 

What's the best thing for doing that?

Saw the new Gillette blades in a Publix in Fort Myers priced at $5.99 for 9 blades. A bit pricey IMHO.

 

Truly made by Gillette or is this just a licensing deal?

 

Totally agree, have tried a lot and the Silver Blue is still my favorite (although as can be seen in my profile pic, it has been a long time since my chin has seen a blade.......)

 

The Gillette Yellows are pretty good as well, but the GSB is impressive.

 

Any comparison on these vs the normal Gillette Platinum

its a corporate thing. its how they are getting rid of old blades in a ware house. and are doing it as a way to reactivate a patent or trademark.

since the art of shaving razor stories emerged on boards, the Gillette company has reactivated all patents and copy rights of their entire double edge sahving history. at the very least they consider the patents and copyright stuff to be reactivated.

 

I was at WALGREENS in lovely Park Avenue (Worcester Mass) - and they had these Gillette Platinum Plus 9 blade packs (from Brasil) on CLEARANCE for 3.79 a pack - so I purchased the LAST 2 packages at the Worecester WalGreens, the packaging is cool - I will save these for my FatBoy and try to stretch them out - what a shame its already on clearance. so these are different than the Gillette plantinum (that have the blue packaging)
