Hi there! I'll be honest, that horrible Gillette SJW-ad brought me here. I'm just three shaves into my DE gear, and I must admit it's great! Never thought shaving could be so much fun. I used to grow a beard for years just because I disliked shaving, now I can't wait for the next shave. I started off with a Muhle R89, then found a Shick Krona. There will be more gear for sure. I had to mount another shelve in the bathroom to fit my gear and to keep the mrs happy (you know how it is). I sent a Swedish summer soap to Kevy shaves for a youtube review as a first interaction in this community. Looking forward to see what the DE world has to offer. Cheers Dolle
Thank you! So far: Mitchells Wool fat soap TOBS Sandal wood shaving cream Victoria Saltsjötvål (The Swedish summer soap) Proraso shaving cream Acqua di Parma preshave oil Klockargårdens shaving soap Executive shaving super badger brush Japanese shaving cup And I have some more gear coming in; Razorock Plissoft brush, TOBS coconut shaving cream. Will also try some more DE razors. May need to mount another shelve
I said hello, @Dolle ,...... Well, hello, @Dolle It's so nice to have you back where you belong Sorry I just to steal a little from Louis Armstrong. But really, I'm glad you decided to join us at TSD. I'm most definitely a vintage DE razor guy my self as well.
I don't like the ad either. Welcome from Alabama the Heart of Dixie! Glad to have you here and the shaves will only get better!
Do these look familiar to you, Dolle? The first one (sorry about the poor photo) is an old Barnangens Parba stick and the second is the Hega aftershave with a vintage stick from the same company. Fantastic stuff!
Thanks! What Swedish razors are there on the market? Don't know of any. Schick had razor factories in Sweden, according to the manual in my Schick Krona box
Dolle, welcome to The Shave Den. You're off to a great start. It appears you will need another shelf. If you are interested, check out the 30 Day Rule/Focus thread. We are there to improve our technique, help each other, and have fun. We'd love to have you join us.
