Greetings to all TSD members... I am new to the site, but not to wetshaving. Most of my razors are Gillette Super Speeds (given my Username, ARE YOU SURPRISED???). There are also Gillette Adjustables, Techs, Open-Combs, and my first...a Merkur Slant Bar...in my rotation. Many of my consumable products (and a couple of brushes) came from Tryphon courtesy of that fine gentleman, Giovanni. Nice to be able to say that without being censored or banned!!! I am really looking forward to exploring and posting on your (most excellent!) website. I would like to extend my very best wishes for a superb 2008 to fellow enthusiasts here!!! Morrie
Thanks, Ken. Thanks Rick. I am living in Schuylkill County, near Pottsville. That's the home of Yuengling Beer, America's Oldest Brewery! Originally, I'm from Philadelphia. I know...I know...it is LATE here on the East Coast for me to be up. Too much caffeine perhaps??? Or maybe I'm just waiting for another opportunity to shave! Morrie
Ahhh...JoAnna! Hello to YOU!!! I first learned about you and this site from Giovanni's R & B forum. I'm VERY glad to be here and you folks certainly seem hospitable! It looks like a great forum and I am smack-dab in the middle of the experimenting/learning continuum, but--then again--aren't we ALL? Once again--great website and thanks much for the warm welcome! Morrie
We are certainly glad you are here too, Morrie! I also seem to have had too much caffeine this evening. This group is definetly hospitable! A great bunch! I, on the other hand, get a bit moody now and then, but I really don't mean any harm. :ashamed001 Some call me "Queen", and some call me "MoM", and I guess that about sums up the moodiness issue.
Well, moody is understandable given your level of responsibility! Not a problem at all. At our Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, I routinely have to deal with/feed/clean and water some pretty moody critters... Most notably would be "Windigo," our 40-pound (almost) Canadian Lynx. Second place would be a toss-up between several Birds of Prey we have as permanent residents for educational and/or foster parenting purposes. I suppose I'm pretty "thick-skinned" (well, except for my FACE)! I have shaved off the beard in my avatar, leaving just a moustache and a bit of a goatee. Hmmm...these usually are risky areas to shave--so there you have an example of form following function! I am off to sleep (finally) and will be checking back at TSD regularly! Thank you again, Morrie
Warm Welcome, Morrie! Hi Morrie, I know you are going to like it here. The people are great. Sometimes, though, I feel so at home that I forget I am in a public forum and just say whatever comes to mind . So, if I say something really dumb, just pretend you didn't see it. Oh, and please ignore all typos as well . Have fun and I look forward to learning from you! 's Elizabeth
Welcome Morrie, enjoy the ride. I'd like to here more about the job, sound very interesting. Happy New Year! Susie
Welcome aboard Morrie Just saying Yeungling has garnered you some extra Kudos. Next thing..if you say you like Aqua Velva....youll hit legendary status.
Personaly I am a devotee of that great shaving instrument that Gillette calls the Super Speed. I have one from each decade that the super speeds were made, with the exception of the black tip. Skipped that one since it was made of aluminum. Also have a speedway and a tech, although the shave is almost as good as the super speeds I seem to keep cutting my fingers on the blades when I handle three piece razors. Do you agree Super Speed that the black tip Super speed is not as good as some fo the other modes since it was made of aluminum.
