I went with TGN and ordered their 3 band synthetic knot and some epoxy. Thanks for the input guys I'll post pics when it's done.
Yes, the Chiseled Face in both 24 and 28 mm use the same fiber. They are also the same fiber as in the Stirling and L'Occitane Plisson brushes. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/brush-handle-candidate-2-finally-receives-a-knot.46495/
For the epoxy on my Rubberset I used Loctite. It has a long nozzle that mixes the two components on the way to the tip. You can get very precise on the application, with no mess. Worked great for me and I will use it again.
