"New To Me" Theme Week

New to me today: vintage Barbershop Deluxe Lather soap, part of that set from my father-in-law I posted in the haul a while back....

Great lather (I'm assuming b/c it's a vintage and real tallow based soap...), no real discernable scent....

 

Today I ended up going through two New To Me razors.

I decided that seeing that I have the place to myself last night, I would have a chance to hone that 2nd Rolls Razor without disturbing wife or daughter. After maybe 500 passes, it didn't do well on arm hairs, so I gave another 500+ passes.

I tried to shave with it this morning... after three passes, I had almost accomplished a normal WTG pass. Ugh... Then I did two passes with the Cooper Swing top and ended up with a passable shave. Skin was giving warnings so I didn't do a final pass with the Cooper.

After 5 passes... woo I didn't know Old Spice burned like that!

So, two NTM razors off the list in just one morning. I guess that brings the Stahly Live up for tomorrow....

 

How shiny are the pennies?

Followed it with some Pinaud virgin island bay rum... I am all bay rummy.. if that is a word. woohoo..

 

Got a tube of this in the mail from a friend, will let you know my opinion when I try it out:

 

Bay Rummy is now a word cuz I said it is That soap lathers up nice! 4.50 for a nice big puck. IMHO, another product that outperforms it's price.

 

I face lathered the stuff with my vintage Badger... WOW.. used my 1910 Gem with a new Treet blade.. OH MY.

 

I'd like to try the Ogallala AS too. I'm thinkin on getting the bay rum/sage scented soap and give it a slide.

 

I am going to get some of the Osage Rub me thinks here soon. I went to a barber the other day for the first time. HE does not use a straight to clean up the lines.. but still a good guy.. he offers a splash of the osage on the neck to finish up.. yup was nice...

 

New to me today: The AV Musk for 50 cents at a rummage sale. Haint tested and approved! A bit manly on me so into the "Future PIF" box it goes.

 

About time he came around to the AV side of life.. even if not the real good stuff at least not bad at all stuff

Yup, Speick is good stuff. I like the Speick A/S as well!

 

I had a small sample a while ago...I remember loving the stuff....It'll be ordered when I get a new stick, that's for sure....

 

New today: Stahly Live blade. Woo Hoo! that big awkward handle was actually nice in my hands. Now... what it I put an open comb slant head on the Stahly handle.... hmmmmmmmm.....
