Yes, these were made between the time Gillette stopped using serial numbers in 1931 and started using date codes in 1950. And since we know the model of it ("The NEW" sold under several different official set names such as Exposition, Bostonian, Blue Gold Special, Gold Special, Red And Black Special ), we know it was made between 1934 and 1941.

Crazy to think that Hitler was in power, and one of the worst times in World history was happening or soon to come as this razor was coming off the assembly line.

:signs046: Hi Mike, thats a really nice collection you have already. That style AutoStrop takes a proprietary blade so a regular SE blade won't work. Feather makes a blade that will work however. The "NEW" long comb I think and ER 1912 will give you great, close shaves. Just F.Y.I. the ER 1912 was made around 1926 after the 1914 and 1924. Also if you ever want to use a DE handle (like the one on your "NEW") on the 1912 a 10/32 set screw 3/8" long will work with most Gillettes also Weber BullDog,EJ89,SabiT2 andParker97 handles. I hope you enjoy your time here.

Hey thanks so much for the info. I didn't have a clue what kind of blades these take. I've only ever seen the double edge blades. I knew there were single edges, but I've never seen one, let alone knew there were different styles of them. I'm learning so much here. Thanks a ton!
