Hi Paul, I just got back yesterday. I'll be back on the boards on a fuller basis and look forward to your witty remarks
I started from the far end of the razor spectrum. When I got fed up with cartridge razors I bought a shavette - the kind that takes 1/2 a DE blade. Later I purchased and enjoyed a shave ready vintage straight razor. Since then I've been enjoying DE razors. I like several Gillette models; Fat Boy, NEW Long Comb, Red Tip. Recently tried my first Slant - a Lutz made in Germany in the 1930 (?), & a modern Chinese clone of the Merkur Futur (Ming Shi 2000S). I had a few tries at GEM type single edge razors but did not find satisfaction there. Generally I prefer tallow soaps, but there are many fine vegetal based products I've tried. Tcheon Fung Sing offers many scents. Do you have a favorite? Is there a particular in their line that gives your better performance?
You know I've had trouble with GEM razors too RyX (I've got a featherweight and a lot of people seem to like them) - must be an angle thing. I'll have to give it another go some time.
Hello! Glad to meet you. I'm a fan of TFS too. Great soap, great scents. I have zagara gelsomino, ginestra di taormina, and tabacco verde. The zagara is my favorite, but I like all three of them.
