Troy, I love my Weber as well. Also have two of them in case of razor apocolypse.

    Shave 7

So I missed shaving last night. I was fooling around with my new to me SRR B2. So this afternoons shave has 2 days growth.

It was a stressful day at work today. So I was REALLY looking forward to my ME time. I got home and nobody was here.
Excellent I can have a good 45 minutes to myself. So I jumped in the shower and took a nice leisurely HOT shower. I washed my face with Dove soap. I really like this for my face prep.

I got out of the shower and whipped up my lather. It was a bit too wet today. Not bad I needed to give my brush (synthetic) one more good shake.
But that is what this focus is about. Really learning to know your equipment.
Anyhow lathered up and started my shave with a new blade. (I got 6 from the first one. Twice as many as my DE blades.) My first pass WTG went flawlessly. Very even reduction. Lathered up a second time and spent a few minutes just massaging my face with the brush. Just because it feels so good.

Second pass XTG want just as great as the first one. I did a little experiment on my upper lip. I did a 45 Deg ATG too see how it would go. This went way better than expected. So I decided to try a true ATG on my upper lip on the third pass.

Lather my face again at a nice leisurely pace. Bu this time all the problems of the world had vanished from my thoughts. Did my third pass ATG. Starting with my neck and working my different areas up from there. When I got to my lip I went for the full ATG. Wow it went fine. I wet my hands a bit and gave it the once over to see what I had left to cleanup. The usual under my jaw. But to my surprise it was the closest third pass I have ever gotten to date under there. I reapplied tome lather to that small area and did a buff. There was also a bit left in the corner of my lips so a few strokes and I was done.

By this time I was very pleased with my shave. Also the time spent doing it. I did my cold rinse and proceeded to clean up my area and equipment. When I was done I rinsed one more time with cold water and patted my face dry. I gave it the once over and I could not really feel any stray hairs anywhere. I decided to use the VIBR AS. I applied a generous amount this time because I really like the smell. Hoping it may last a few hours.
I waited 5 minutes and rechecked my face after everything really dries. I have the best shave ever. A true BBS with zero irritation.
I am really getting sold on SE shaving. Come December I will be focusing on my injector razors. I am starting to feel sorry for my DE razors.

My face feels awesome and so do I. What a way to unwind. Shaving therapy.

In the shaving underground, we call this pass a Modified ATG or MATG. It's a great compromise for those areas that don't like a true ATG pass.

The alum felt great, almost no feel to it at all, but a out an hour later, the bumps started to show their ugly selves. Just on my left side....
I guess I need to tighten up my technique on my cross side.

    No Variation NoVember
This No Variation month is perfect for me to learn skills with new-to-me equipment.

    Razor: Mongoose B3
Blades: Feather Artist Club Professional (1)
    Soap: Saponificio Varesino Manna
    Brush: Omega 31025 Scarlatti Boar
AS: Changes at will. Today: Proraso Green

    11-2-15.JPG

My first shave since I fractured a couple of my ribs on Sunday night.

    Three-pass shave. (WTG,XTG,ATG)
    Face-lather.

This shave was a struggle because my body still hurts, certain motion causes extreme pain and the pain meds make me groggy.

All of that adds up to: A great shave!
    Go figure.

Must be because of the extra focus and slow pace that it required. Twelve hours later I am still soooo smooth.
I’m still only 6 shaves into the month, but can see that with time, patience and practice - I should be able to develop the skill to make this an everyday razor. The shaves I've gotten have been so good and have come so quickly in the learning curve that I think I'd be remiss not to get this razor into my top rotation, if not at the top.

If it sounds like I'm hesitant, it's because I am. This razor is different than any razor I've used in my short wetshave experience. The weight, size and dimensions make a difference. To me anyway. I'm struggling with the grip, balance point, length, weight, etc., of something so different than I'm used to. Which is one reason that I am just amazed by the great shaves that have come so quickly in spite of all of that.

I’m confident that with time…familiarity will come. I still have two-thirds of the month left.
    Cheers!

Wednesday is Veterans Day here in the USofA, and I want to dedicate today's shave to all our active veterans worldwide. I want to express my gratitude to all Vets who have served. All gave some, and some gave all. Thank you for your sacrifice.

The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #27 Silver Tip brush. Two passes with my Gillette Super Adjustable razor on 8 and an Astra Super Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, alum block, and a final cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayers Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva after shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

    Same as always.

Let us pause to remember Armistice Day now called Veteran's Day. I salute my younger brother (USN ret.), my nephews on active duty (USMC and USN), several uncles (Army, Navy and Marines) and my older brother (Colorado Highway Patrol ret.)

This was the perfect set up for a smooth shave this morning. I'll be attending Rememberance Day ceremonies in full uniform with members of my Fire Dept this morning, so a clean shave is all that more important this day.

Cheers to all my friends to the south who are celebrating Veterans Day. As a Canadian with an American wife, I have the double pleasure of celebrating and remembering those that served and currently serve in both countries.

First, thank you veterans! And thank you to the families that support our veterans! I appreciate everything you have done for our country and freedom.

    Progress set at 4
    Astra SP
    TOBS Grapefruit
    Asylum brush
    Myrsol Blue

So I could not stay away from setting 4. Usually shave at 3. I really like the closeness at 4. It was the 4th day with this blade and got a nice smooth shave - not sure I want to go to a 5th day so will replace the blade tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a nice Wednesday.

    Day 12 - No Variation
    [IMG]

Another relaxing shave this morning with the NoV kit. Not having to worry about lather (because MdC lathers itself) is making for enjoyable shaves each morning. A two pass BBS is virtually guaranteed each day. I haven't had any irritation to speak of either. Outside of the fun of choosing products to use each day and not using the new shaving gear Ive purchased this month, I'm really enjoying this No Variation challenge.

I know what you mean, Roger. Don't have to think about what to use. Having chosen well for NoVember, I am virtually guaranteed a perfect shave. I, too, am really enjoying this No Variation challenge.
