No Variation November - A TSD Challenge

@Bama Samurai we have time that I could ship you a straight and strop for November, and you could lock into that. Let me know.

 

Not me. I normally have 2 or 3 razors "on deck " and a half dozen soaps. I like variety and would get bored otherwise. It's a great idea though!

 

That would 'kill' a lot of the enjoyment I have when it comes to my shaves

I'm in, no thinking about what is next for a whole month. Reminds me of the old days (early 70s) when I only had when one of each, I did not have much of of choice.

Adam, I sincerely appreciate it and think that is really cool. My concerns with NOV is the travel involved around Thanksgiving, and my ability to give it the attention it demands. I am going to decline your friendly offer at this time, but you will see me take up SR in early 2016. I hope you will help me get through it, honestly, I am a bit intimidated. But, I will be trying it. You'll probably be one of the first to know! That's a promise.

Im in. I dont think Ive ever used a soap or brush two days in a row let alone for a month straight.
Here's my planned NOVember kit:
Razor = Schick type F
Blade = Schick Injector
Brush = Simpson Berkeley 46 Best Badger
Soap = Martin de Candre Lavender (Brain Bowl)
Aftershave = Myrsol Agua Balsamica

I will be using a variety of preshave products and different EDT's to at least keep my SOTD pics fresh.....

 

Welcome aboard! As luck would have it, AS, EdT and the like are not part of the game. It is a great way to generate unique photos and break the grind.

 

My only issue is that I don't have many of any blade. I'm living off samples right now. The only blade I have enough of is dorco and I've yet to use one. I can get more Wilkinson blades at the drug store but again I haven't used any yet or I can use injector razors but, injectors are way too easy to use that long. I just focused on my injectors and was bored 2 weeks in. Soap would have to be arko, Proraso or Williams. Everything else I have is a sample and unlikly to last a month.

 

And the fact that your going to gwt the tourbox doesn't help...too much variety to limit yourself.

 

I'm in. I will have to figure out which razor and soap I will use. I will either use my birth year 1974 SS or my 1958 Executive. My question for @Bama Samurai or others is whether I am allowed to change the settings on the adjustable executive. Start with 5 go up to 9 etc. like most do when they do a focus on an adjustable. Or is that violating the no variation rules?
