I recently had the good fortune to win a Super-Speed razor set complete with its display rack where all the razor sets are absolutely mint / NOS and the rack is in excellent condition too! It's incredible that something like this survived in such a good condition for 64 years and I'm very, very happy to add these Super-Speed sets and the rack to my collection. There are two other such Super-Speed sets with rack that I know of, the first one from Achim and the second one from a B&B member Jonnyfive. Both of those nice sets are dated 1950 and mine is from 1949, the first year Gillette transitioned Super-Speeds packaging from cardboard boxes to plastic travel cases. On to the pictures! The complete set; five NOS 1949 super-speed razor sets in the rack: Close-up of the razor sets: All five super-speed sets with their case opened. You can see that the blade dispensers are still in the original cellophane wrapping: Empty rack: Close-up of the empty rack, showing the left and right flap that's not fully visible in the head-on shot before: Rear view of the rack: Close-up of the instructions to set up the display card: I think this rack would have originally had six Super-Speed razor sets as seen in Jonnyfive's set, but I'm not sure. Quirks in this set are that there is minor clouding on the clear plastic lid in a couple of sets, and in the instruction sheet in one set, there is a slight tear on the part that protrudes out of the case. But I'm not worried about these quirks as this is a very rare set!
So how did they shave?............. Beautiful set, congratulations.....Seeing that rack is like a time machine....Very Cool...
